Huh!? So you'rew saying ee Africnas have ugly voices that sound like we're long time smokers.

*shocked and amused*

Lalalala...I don't think that was quite what Silvart was implying, more they sound like long-time smokers than Africans.

Personally, I thought they communicated in grunts...but then you all know I don't pay much attention. ;)

On the Texas accent:

It really does depend on what part of the state you observe. The breakdown is more or less as follows:

-North Texas (Dallas/Ft. Worth): Mostly accent-less, some instances of slight Southern Accent

-North Texas (Amarillo): Pronounced, but clear Southern accent

-West Texas (El Paso to San Angelo): Heavy, drawling Southern accent (This is what I think best represents the Seanchan accent). Words and phrases like "y'all", "fixin' to", "reckon", "howdy", and "i ain't fer sure" are in common usage.

-Austin Metro Area: Western U.S. (California) accent

-East Texas (Houston): Slight southern accent, more pronounced as one travels further East, mixed with Spanglish

-South Texas (San Antonio to Brownsville): Tex-Mex/Spanglish accents

Marie, I'd need to hear you speak to determine if your accent is Seanchan enough.

But it's hard to say what the Seanchan are like... he's said simply they have a drawl.

As for myself, you'd have to catch me on the right day. :D Sometimes I sound like I'm from the South, why I don't know, but usually I sound very West Coast. I of course don't hear either of those dialects unless someone points them out to me. Which usually only makes them worse.
