Tension! Between Lan/Moiraine

Maybe it was an informed decision on their part to keep their relationship at a certain point and no further.

 

Be that as it may, their proximity was bound to lead to lust, just simple sexual infatuation. If anyone, I'd say Lan was guilty of this, him being a guy and subject to the whims of testosterone.

Oh yes, he was definitely hot for her. Perhaps even for all of the 20 years.

 

She, on the other hand, was all too convinced of their professionalism. So much so that she probably would strip in front of him while they were out in the Blight or what-have-you, tired of putting up the sheets or Mirror of Mists. Oh what a tease. She seems like she would be a total tease, and totally coy about it, too...

All I'm saying is, "wanting" someone and "getting" them are two different things! Ew, that sounds so... cheap! I don't think it's easy having a relationship with a person who shares a Warder bond with you. If there was overwhelming sexual tension between them, they wouldn't have held back.

I don't know if it was ever "overwhelming". The Greens would disagree with you on the difficulty! Heck, even that one Aes Sedai bonded to Logain seemed to think the sex was...well...fantastic with a bonded partner! I think those gals like it.

Since both Lan and Moiraine strike me as wedded to their cause, I feel that humping just didn't figure on the agenda

 

I actually don't believe there was "tension!" between them, but if there was, and if it was "tense" enough, they'd have got on with things rather than pretend it didn't exist.

 

Personally, I'm not sure I'd like sex with a bonded partner! I wouldn't like to be bonded to anyone... *shudders at the thought*... so I think it's a matter of personal choice. Like... um... f'rinstance, you like chocolate or you don't like chocolate. Neither is a crime!

 

Of course... there's another issue. Everyone doesn't have the same opinions/reactions when it comes to sex. It is possible that it wasn't something that was too important to either Lan or Mo, and they existed fine without "getting it". Only RJ can tell us

If Moiraine once did have the hots for Lan, but couldn't get him,... I don't expect her to admit that to herself. She's much too proud for that.

 

I'm also not sure about Lan's feelings for her,... he seemed pretty depressed in NewSpring and when you are truly depressed it is hard to feel anything.

 

She does not rely on money!

But of course she does, she's born a noble woman and nobles to tend to rely on money... and the first thing she did was to use money to track the three boys!

Hi there. New here, but I figured I would just jump in with an opinion.

 

I never really saw any sexual tension between Lan and Moiraine. To me, they always seemed like two people who just could never quite 'get' each other but probably thought they should because they had a common cause.

 

You can accuse me of having bizarre thoughts, but I kind of got the notion sometimes that there might be some sexual tension between Egwene and Moiraine. Maybe it was just all the time they spent hanging around with the Aiel, but for some reason, it just seemed to me Moiraine let her in in a way she hadn't seemed to with other characters. Or maybe its just a sense that Egwene maybe had a bit of a crush on Moiraine. Whatever, I just got the sense something was up there between those two.

Methinks there was a touch of sexual tension between Lan and Moiraine in New Spring. But that sort of peetered out when they agreed to 'fight the war on shadow'. Lan's just too noble for that lark.
