Same here... I was warned not to pay much attention to the prologue and to be patient for the first 50-60 pages as it was boring!

But the prologue is boring! I made my friend read EotW and after she finished the prologue she didn't wanted to read it anymore. I just wanted to be able to talk about the books with a sane person.

I came into the series late (about two years before CoT was released), so when I bought TEotW, it had a newer prologue called "Ravens", which is a short chapter about Egwene when she was about 9 years old. I found it fascinating, and WoT became one of those drugs that addicts after the first dose (curse you, RJ!). The next chapter was the original prologue with Lews Therin that I found equally interesting.
