Min is just a sad case' date=' I didn't like her the moment I read about her. She just really didn't seem all that smart, I did like the fact she thought for herself, but she fell in love with R-boy only, [i']only[/i] because she thought she was going to. If she hadn't had that particular viewing, I don't think she'd ever give him a second thought. That respect made me lose respect (odd sounding, isn't it) for her character.

 

 

Ummm, aren't Min's viewings though always correct? Therefore even if she hadn't 'seen' herself falling in love with Rand, she still would have.

You missed my point. She fell in with him because she saw it. She had no reason to. Just that inevitable feeling that "Oh Light, I'm going to fall in love with him." Moiraine probably did Rand a TREMENDOUS favor in making it so that he didn't rely on Min. (she did do something to this effect, somehow, if I recall) Personally, if I were in Rand's shoes, I'd lose Min. Her viewings are always correct, so no matter what happens, they do happen, so why be told in advance? You can't change the past, and with Min, unless your The Dark One fiddlin' with the pattern, you can't change the future either.

I agree with Mirror boy Sivart.... Authors tends to always go all prohpesy any stuff that can't be changed.

Authors likes to make it like that for some reason... but when stuff needs to exciting, the seers can always just see that it can go either way. In which case, they are being completely useless anyways...

see, that's a difference on how we interpret the scene, the first time we're basically allowed into Min's POV, the following have already happened:

1. She's seen Rand for the first time

2. She's 'seen' Rand

3. She fallen in love with him, and is upset, partially because Rand isn't her 'type', and partially because she will have to share him.

 

Now the question is did she fall in love with him, see him, and 'see' him all at once? That is my take, yours' are different

Define falling in love. How can you do it and be "upset?" Why did she fall in love with him? Did he ever give her a reason? Did she even 'know' him well enough? That's my whole take on this. She didn't have any reason.

Nope, neither had any reason either, and it sure seemed like at least Elayne had fallen for Rand from the first sight of him.

 

And at least Min hasn't made plans on how to bind Rand with the one power and oaths like Elayne.

Of all of them, Min seems to have actual reasons to be in love with Rand. I cannot tell you what those reasons are, but it seems Elayne decided she loved him on first sight (more like lust at first sight) and wanted to keep him, and Aviendha seems to have convienced herself she loves him.

 

Why anyone would love Rand is a mystery even he can't solve.

Favourite? can't they just all be killed off along with Rand. If its a question as to who i dislike least I would have to sas Min. Simply because Elayne is one of the stupidest characters in the series and Avi...well i just generally dislike the aiel.
