Man I can see it now, lots and lots of people die and then when a bloody owl dies the main character tumbles down a spiral of self pity and depression. And then he doesn't even die! Damn Rowlings.

Tonks didn't get really all that much screentime and then she just..dies.

Ahem, I liked the ending, although the epilogue was a bit cheesy.

I hated the epilogue. It's obvious it was written ages before the last book: the style of writing, and the level of skill, are different.

 

And naming a brother and sister after two people who were husband and wife is just...wrong. On so many levels.

I liked that Luna talked to Harry at the end. It was a nice little moment.

The ending was crap, complete and utter crap. I don't really care about the epilogue any way. It was simply a continuation of the ending, which was crap.

I also really didn't like the whole Kings cross mindscape chatting with Dumbledore thing. I didn't actually buy the book I just borrowed it from a friend and read the last seventy pages or so, but if I had I'm sure I'd have something bad to say about the whole Harry and Ginny thing. But that might be because I don't like the maincharacter in general.

Well, I'm not bothering with the spoiler tag either. Anyone who comes here should be prepared for spoilers, it says so in the title!

 

I agree with Tosh that the ending was crappy, and that's not including the epilogue! That's so... Hindi film! God, it was so cheesy I almost threw up!

 

What I liked was the fact that even at the end Harry used "expelliarmus" to try and disarm Voldy! Of course, he probably figured out what was going to happen! Oh, and I felt really sad for Snape. I'd always liked him kinda, and I'd guessed correctly about him! It seems that he was the one who had to endure the most all these 16 years, and he did endure till the very end.

 

As for the deathly hallows, um... they could have been left out of the story so it would have been a much tighter book! And Dumbledore's I-me-myself exposition in King's Cross really got me annoyed! In all, he came across as a rather selfish idiot and a pompous arse! If things were that important, he should have (a) explained more to Harry; ( trused the Order more. Even Snape was disgusted when he found out about his machinations (well, that's a strong word, but you know what I mean!).

 

Um... sorry, I was going on and on... Basically, I think the plot is weak, but the story was very racy. Am going to do a detailed review on my blog later

 

EDIT: Oh, and I was gutted by Hedwig's death! I hate it when pets/animals have to die! It could so have been avoided. Would have been much more interesting if Harry had died and the story still gone on!

I wish Snape had killed the snake, or Voldy at the end even.. something more! He was probably my most favorite of favorite.

 

I thought it would bother me more when Fred died, as I was spoiled, but it didn't.

Yeah, Snape was my favourite too. The most interesting by far. I also agree with Laura 2 that it'd have been more interesting had Voldy won
