I've started colouring it and I like what I see. The cloak looks better than I thought I could manage. A couple of days and it will be done

 

I don't know that much about knights templar. I don't think that Eddings is a reliable source in this case

The coloring is very nicely done, especially the cloak/toga.

So it was a santa hat!

Yes it was! I agree that it looked a bit different in the lineart. It's the red that does it.

Yes! A mistletoe. I didn't even think of that. I'll have to look for references, though, since that tradition seems to have gone unnoticed in my family. I'll need a background too. Perhaps I'll just take some screenshots in Oblivion and edit them a bit.

Ummmm, I like the color very much. How is it done?

I paint everything by hand using the basic tools in GIMP. Not even I know exactly how it's done. I guess it's just a matter of picking the right colours, knowing the interface and controlling the mouse.

Yes, I actually use a very cheap mouse. It's quite OK until I have to do eyelashes.

Wow, I'm impressed! My sister and brother-in-law work with graphics software all the time and they always have to use a pen-and-tablet thing. As for me, my mouse has a mind of its own!

I'm pretty good with photoshop etc. But painting something with the mouse is beyond me.

How do you manage so much control? And PS tends to be more user friendly than Gimp, so it's not even like you've got the easiest graphics program either. *highly impressed too*
