I was thinking of this today, what scenes in wot make you laugh (in a good way)?

Mat/Tylin scenes were full of lulz for me. I think RJ intended that relationship to be funny rather than disturbing/weird/whatever other fans found it.

Let's see, I have always liked the scene in TGH when Rand is having his audience with Siuan (avec Moiraine/Verin) and he asks (again) if Moiraine can teach him to channel and she says that whole "birds/fish" saying. Anyway, what makes me laugh is how then Verin goes on into this lecture about these fish that can fly, and these birds that can swim, but then she realizes she's rambling and sort of quiets down while Moiraine and Siuan are giving her a death stare.

 

And then, there's the NS scene where Sheriam tells Moiraine and Siuan that "sometimes you two are passing on strange".

 

Oh oh, and also, in NS, when Siuan is telling the MoN that it really would be better for Moiraine to stay behind, gosh golly! And then the MoN decides Siuan can stay and keep Moiraine company and Siuan's smile is all frozen on her face.

 

Man I could go on and on.

The scene in NS when Moiraine meets Cadsuane, the dialogue really made me laugh

So much in NS makes me laugh!

 

-When Mat was nervous about the cards after they tried to kill him.

-Lan thinking of Moiraine as an odd little woman, though I can't remember if that was exactly what he called her.

-Perrin being so embarrassed when the Tinkers + Eggy danced for him made me sort of laugh in sympathy. One of the few times I felt for him!

-Also, Rand dancing with Eggy, Nyn and then stumbling all over Moiraine and getting this look of pity from her... but being better the second time. Awe, lol!

-That bit with Siuan volunteering Moiraine that Marie mentioned.

-The bit with Caddy and Moiraine that Laura mentioned.

-Anything with Cad really!

-The reactions of the men to Nynaeve's cooking.

-That Nynaeve floppy hat

-Just: Nynaeve

-Moiraine catching the fish

-Some general reactions of Thom to the three boy's gooberishness

-Myrelle saying that Moiraine squealed in NS, with Moiraine denying.

Moiraine and Perrin in TDR. Particularly when Perrin is reflecting on how every night Moiraine makes him do chores she is perfectly capable of doing herself, and how he knows he's being manipulated. I just love how he breaks it down and all the things Moiraine does: acting astonished he wouldn't want to do it, simply walking away, raising one eyebrow, etc. I love how they are both aware of the unfairness of it all, but Moiraine still gets away with it.

Oh yesyes, and Loial moaning about not angering Aes Sedai the whole time. Just the image of this massive Hulk sized creature tiptoeing around on eggshells while doing her chores makes me giggle.

Also in that book when he goes into her room on the boat and one of his first thoughts was how Moiraine was fully clothed this time.

Yes! He seemed relieved, but was he only? >: )

 

Also, sometimes her temper flare-ups at Rand later on in Tear and the Waste make me chuckle, and sometimes it makes me want to smack him around. I laughed when he got smacked and thought it was Egghead.

That made me a little sad because I kept thinking "Lanfear :("

 

I liked how she was getting upset with Faile, and Lan would poke fun and she would do the death glare.

She had a great death glare.

 

For some reason I was amused that she had an anteroom in her log hut when everyone else had one room when they were all in the mountains.

 

Stupid Lanfear. Verin makes me laugh most of the time, except when she is creeping me out.

But she also had a roommate. Her and Lan only shared when they had to.

 

Oh, also in TDR (noticing a pattern?!) how Perrin noticed Moiraine seemed to enjoy being treated as a lady. Although it slightly annoyed me how Perrin was too dense to realize Moiraine was a lady.

I was going to mention Lan but I didn't. *giggles* Yes, it was funny that the teeny tiny front room was where Lan probably had to sleep. He never cares though. Oh! That part in book 5 when Egwene walks past him and his eyes open to follow her was funny. I say TDR but I can't say FoH. It is "book 5" to me.

 

Perrin was so dense. Actually, he really should have been helping out with the chores if you think about it, simply because she was the Aes Sedai and was too busy fuming about Rand and searching for him. Um, yes. But really, he had the least amount of respect for her as far as that went. Well, other than Mat. And Rand when he teased her in book 5 by making her sit outside the tent until she was not angry any more... and she sat there for a looooong time.

OMG I loved that!! I mean, a part of me was mad at Mat laughing about it, but this other part of me just couldn't help but laugh too. At her bringing Rand his food even and Rand getting highly annoyed as he realizes she just won't go away.
