Wow it is amazing how much I forgot I picked up on since my last reread. Why yes I am doing another one! Mostly because college sucked all my money out so I have to entertain myself with what I have blah blah blah no one cares, not even me!

 

Throughout the series characters are always on about how "cold" Moiraine can be, even when she is just being practical. And now I notice Nynaeve is just as guilty of such behavior! But we all knew she was a hypocrite.

 

"He's dying," [Rand] cried.

 

"I know," she said simply, and he sagged with the matter-of-factness of it.

 

"You have to do something. You have to. You're the Wisdom."

 

Pain twisted her face, but only for an instant, then she was all hollow-eyed resolve again, her voice emotionless and firm.

 

That last part in particular made me go ":lol: That is so Momo like!"

 

And while we're still hanging out in Emond's Field, I liked how after Moiraine tells the story of Aemon al Caar al Thorin the first man to part from the mob is Paet al'Caar. I don't know, it kind of made me go "awww" .

When they are at the Stag and Lion (before Whitecloaks/Nynaeve) and eating din and Moiraine and Lan are talking about the news of the world.... It so made me think of mom and dad and the kids (plus unmarried uncle). It was almost borderline normal. Well, normal for Moiraine/Lan.

 

However, I am always kind of with Moiraine eating scenes because I guess I don't really see her as human or something.

Nynaeve remembered her own encounter, but she refused to admit the sense of what Moiraine said

 

I can't remember if I quoted this before but whatever if I did!

"Tea?" Moiraine offered.

 

"No, I don't want any tea. I would not drink your tea if I was dying of thirst."

Moiraine and Lan are the Mom and Dad of Spectacularly Awesome. Except that the mom and dad are not sleeping together and the unmarried uncle is extremely nervous about whose tiny foot is rubbing up his pant leg. (It was Rand's)

Moiraine has walking staff in this book. Nynaeve had a stick-club-weapon. They are more alike than they know.

[Moiraine] gave sympathy, and to Nynaeve's surprise it appeared genuine.

Don't feel bad, Nana, I'm always surprised by Moiraine's sympathy too.

I had no idea Loial had pale eyes. Yes, even after all this time and rereads, I am only now picking up on it.

 

Also, I like seeing Moiraine pet kitties; I'm glad she isn't anti-cat like Romanda. I still love you, bb

 

Maybe her and Thom will adopt a kitty.
