Moiraine&Siuan Wallpaper

Not long after I posted my last wallpaper - which got a great response, thanks guys - I got a laptop, and the only screen resolution that looks good on the laptop is 1440x900. Which, coincidentally, is much bigger than 800x600, and it's widescreen. This meant I couldn't use my new shiny wallpaper, and almost no one anywhere makes wallpapers for 1440x900. I've been using a wallpaper of a character from another fandom, but I've gotten sick of it.

 

So, today, I sat down and finally worked on making myself a new wallpaper. And I'm really, really proud of it. It features Moiraine and Siuan as seen in the New Spring comic books. You can view this wallpaper as reflecting the romantic relationship between the two, or just their beautiful friendship. It should work either way. It took a long time to make this one, so I hope you enjoy it.

 

There are eight small photos of Moiraine and Siuan, plus a brush that I downloaded from Livejournal, only I can't remember who I got it from. There are also several quotes from the New Spring novel: two from Siuan's point of view, two from Moiraine's, and one general Wheel of Time quote. (The long Moiraine quote actually comes from two different paragraphs, but they fit together really well.)

 

I'm posting a widescreen (1440x900) version and a not-widescreen (1024x768) version, with blank and text versions for each. Enjoy.

P.S. I know it looks like all I do is make wallpapers, but that isn't true. I only do it because very few other people make wallpapers that I like to use. I just happen to like sharing them with all of you.

I'm used to Siuan's bangs now. I thought of her as having shoulder length hair, but sort of long bangs instead of straight across.

It pretty much fit for me. I didn't picture Siuan's hair like that or Moiraine's nose, but yes. I pictured Cairhienin like french/welsh/japanese or something. And even though Siuan is described as pale I pictured her darker brown as if she still had a deep tan from being out in fishing boats. I can't remember if I pictured Elaida that way before since that's the only way I can picture her now. >: ( Lan was too pretty but he was still young there. *done nitpicking*

Siuan's skin matched what I thought, Moiraine didn't really fit at first, but now all I see is the comic. I can accept the RJ approved Moiraine/Siuan/blah blah, but Myrelle looks nothing like I pictured. Like, at all. Not even close. She was so beautiful in my head, and well, yeah.

Yes, I thought of her as more striking or something. I don't know how to put it, but more. Edit again! I liked that Tamra was pretty, but also fairly plain for a comic book character. I just liked that she wasn't overly done.

 

*hmmphs* Moiraine didn't say anything about redheads in the comic I don't think. It was probably Marie's copy of NS that had something about that only.

but yeah....real shame they never finished. And it's been awhile since i've read them, but they weren't too far off from my head, but i think everyone will have their own idea of what book characters look like, which is one of the best things about reading!!

 

Siuan's bangs....yeah, had to get used to those, too. Not the best look for her. lol. i think I imaginged Moiraine a bit more.....breakable? Fragile. Yeah that's probably a better word.

Well, they usually always draw boobs huge in comic books, and there's that muscular aesthetic. I pictured Moiraine more fragile (looking) than how they drew her too, but I think that was just the style of the artwork.
