Aaah the home stretch!

Ok, first off a question: is Faile Davram's heir? This is important to my interests. I know I should know this, but I really try to pay as little attention to the child as I can.

I don't hate Elayne yet, which is a record, and I am struggling trying to enjoy Avi. I want to like her, but she makes it kind of hard. And strangely the more I like Elayne (I am never going to get used to saying that) the more indifferent I become towards Nynaeve. I'm not sure what is wrong with me. :getcookie:

I'm right before the part where Perrin meets Morgase-as-a-maid. I am not looking forward to that plotline. I hate it!

In TSR she mentions that her two older brothers died (IIRC, one fell from his horse and the other killed in the Blight), making her Davram's eldest child. So I guess she is his heir, unless Saldea has an "only boys inherit" custom, which doesn't seem likely because they're ruled by a Queen. I think the "Broken Crown" refers to a ruler not having any children, since Tenobia never married... So yeah, Faile is probably next in line, so her and Perrin's kids will probably end up on the Saldaen throne. Scary thought :getcookie:

And I don't blame you for not knowing - I despise Faile too. I think most people do.

Faile is the heir that much I can remember, Saldea must have an oldest child first policy since Faile mentioned having a younger brother yet she still ended up having to learn how to manage the family estate etc.

I am too lazy to go get the book from my car, so no quotes or names but: a Green who doesn't like men as men?! That shocked me about as much

Tarna sleeping with men. And those men knowing she is Red!

And then of course Perrin making notice that the redheaded Wise One doesn't have that bad of a temper despite her hair color :(

*folds arms* Some redheads do not have tempers and I say this as a brunette, not a redhead. Moiraine must have spread her prejudice to Perrin. *glare*

Cadsuane doesn't like men either.

Not as much as most Greens. Or is that who you meant?

Olivia, you're right. She's the eldest and Davram's heir as far as I know too.

Nope that is not who I meant.

Cad's never been in love or felt like a..Min. I've never taken that to mean she didn't, um, how to put this with tact...screw them. Just didn't love them XD

It's actually Seonid...something like that, who is one of the AS who swore fealty to Rand.

At least she had him 18 or so years before the oldness that he is now. I don't care if it's cheap, he better be young next books!

I wonder how old Verin is? I thought she was 80+ but in this book wasn't there a clue that she was older?

I was thinking about making this into a separate thread, but since I'm on this book and that opening chapter with Verin is what really got me thinking...

What do you guys think Verin is? We know she's AS, but is she something else? Is she working for someone else? Is she bad, good, or a third category? In short, what do you think her deal is?

so no one thinks she's a Darkfriend? Mo called out both of them in her letter, and Alviarin turned out to be head of the BA at the Tower. That has me suspicious about Verin in that regard.

That wasn't quite Moiraine's wording. She was implying that Rand should be careful of any Aes Sedai. At that point she had heard about Siuan and Leane being Stilled. There was no one that Moiraine was absolutely sure about left. She most likely included Verin because of the way the Brown insinuated herself in on that talk with Rand in the beginning of book 2.

We have to take Moiraine's suspicions with a grain of salt. She is overly cautious much of the time when it comes to trusting others due to the Black Ajah situation she knew about from the beginning. It is probably what kept her alive, but maybe not always correct. (Although Liandrin... hello xD )
