Moiraine will not be stilled

Not that I'm counting down or anything...suffice it to say I am real excited about Moiraine coming back. Yay. But for some reason I decided to visit Dragonmount and it seems like everyone there is convinced she will come back stilled/burnt out and that would make me sad panda.

 

 

The hope that she severed the bond with Lan on purpose before jumping Lanfear might be a small hope but it is all I have!

I always thought that the severing of the bond was because of the disruption in the doorway when it melted. It was a doorway to either another world or another universe. There was nothing on record about what would happen to a bond when the way through was destroyed that way. Moiraine went from 100 feet away to... well let's say 100 light years for example. Or... if Finnland is a World that Is there is no telling what kind of distance that would equal out to, or what that would do to a bond if the passageway between Worlds was destroyed. There is another doorway, but they didn't go through that one. Though it leads to a similar place it doesn't lead to the Foxy tower, it leads to the Snakey one.

 

The angreal and the ter'angreal doorway interacted, plus with that massive power discharge from Lanfear (Moiraine grabbed the angreal and was battling with her for control of it) there seemed to be quite a lot of energy going into that doorway destruction. The bracelet was what Moiraine had a small amount of hope in, and why would she grab that bracelet in such a way if she didn't expect to use that power when she got on the other side. Or, if they are unable to channel in Finnland (which they might not be, since Moiraine seemed surprised that Rand could channel when they'd gone through the other doorway) then maybe Moiraine purposefully wanted to destroy the doorway. She either pushed Lan's bond away, or it snapped, but there's no proof or even much circumstantial evidence that it would have led to her being Stilled.

Also, according to Min's viewings, isn't Moiraine still supposed to play a crucial role in the Big Finale? I somehow don't see her doing that as stilled.

 

I also had a pretty compelling reason to think the bond with Lan was snapped on purpose by Moiraine... but it's been too long and I don't have the WoT books with me any more.

She couldn't tell if Lan was dying or trying to get up right before she went through the doorway. If Rand can tell Alanna stubbed her toe, I find it a bit hard to believe Moiraine can't tell the difference between "ugh I'm sore" and "I'M DYING". But that's just me.

And even if she is stilled, one of Rand's Asha'man could just Heal her back to her full strength. If she's burned out, on the other hand... =/

I honestly believe the overload in the One Power flowing through those two into the door way causing it to go SUPER NOVA, foricbly snapped the bond, just to mush power, like a circuit breaker, Lan, "The light bulb" got turned off....why does that sound sexual .

 

If she is stilled and is healed and becomes STRONGER, I will be HAPPY

Yes, about the Lan thing, there's no way she wouldn't have been able to tell. Her PoV also said something about pushing him out of her mind. She knew what was going to happen with the doorway melting since she'd seen it all before. It's only reasonable that she'd transfer the bond before he felt the effects of it snapping that way.

 

The only reason I couldn't see her doing that is if she couldn't transfer it to Myrelle before she died (or something snapped) without Myrelle being right there with her.

Having her stilled then Healed is pointless story wise since it has been done before. And what use would she have burnt out? Wouldn't the lack of the Source make her want to die all the sooner?
