  1. Went down to Malibu this morning for a 7.2 mile hike (which is long for a lazy ass like me). Breathtaking views of the ocean from the overlooking hills! :bleh: Totally worth the blisters I'm gonna have.

  2. O I C!

I don't think so. All RJ's heroes are pretty modest about their accomplishments, always saying someone else is better, or they only did what they had to do, etc. See Nyn's whining about her cowardice, or Mat saying he isn't a bloody general, or Momo wishing she had Siuan's courage, or ANY of the main boys thinking how much better the other two are with women. Excessive gloating about your own awesomeness is something jerks and villains do in WoT, like Elaida and the Forsaken.

Also, "Moiraine of the blue spandex jumpsuit on the cover of NS" is made of lol.

  3. Yeah, I agree with Kaitlin, I can totally see them testing each other, and I can imagine arrogant Elaida would automatically assume she has the upper hand since it's her turf and she has the secret knowledge (as she believes) from her Foretelling that her hold on Elayne will ensure victory at Arma Ge'ddon, so that's got to set her up a bit in her mind.

Also, I've always wondered about that punishment Moiraine knows she will eventually face in NS for disobeying the then-Amyrlin by leaving the city to escape them putting her on the Sun Throne. She said it could be years before it was safe for her to return to Tar Valon, so depending on the timeline, maybe Momo was in Caemlyn not too long after receiving her punishment, because I can totally imagine Elaida rubbing it in! ...Although, wait, now that I think about it, the timing is probably way off for that... =/

I'm curious (though I have the niggling feeling this has been asked already); how old would Elayne (:runcry:) have been when Momo visited? I don't think you can tell a girl's channeling potential strength before she hits puberty, or maybe not even until she's close to beginning to channel, so for Moiraine to know Elayne's potential she would've had to have seen her within, like, the last 5 years before the series began? Hell, maybe she even stopped over in Caemlyn on her way to Baerlon and the Two Rivers.

  4. ...Is it a stretch to imagine that Moiraine and Elaida were all frosty-faced and hot-eyed animosity toward each other in public but secretly had a night of rough, angry sex after so many years apart? With possible Morgase menage a trois? :runcry:

Are you Laura's long lost sister?

That depends. Judging from her fics, Laura has some strange ideas on what "sisterhood" entails... :wow:

  6. If a member of parliament was in danger which agency would been in charge of protecting them? Assuming anyone knows the answer to that.

An MP of which country? The UK? I dunno. In America I'm pretty sure the Secret Service would handle that, and they're now part of the Department of Homeland Security, so whatever that other country's equivalent of Secret Service would probably protect their MPs.

  7. I'm giving Farscape a try.

I really liked that show! Scorpius is one of my favorite villains. Even though I'm not a big sci-fi fan, I'd recommend sticking with it even though the first season is a bit dull (but then, most shows' first seasons are dull). Farscape is really REALLY weird quite often and sometimes silly, but the drama, the romance, and the battles are all awesome. Oh, and this show also did wonders for my leather and boot fetish...

  8. Spank me if this has already been discussed in another thread and my memory is just failing me. ;)

In ACoS ch 24 right after Nynaeve and Elayne (B)) leave the Kin house for the first time (the Kin threw them out because they didn't believe the girls were AS and wouldn't tell them about the Bowl of the Winds), they are attacked on their way back to the palace. A blunt-headed arrow grazes Nyn and knocks El out, and while they're recovering some weird people try to carry them away under the guise of "helping" them.

At first I thought they were just thieves who saw two women in silk dresses and wanted to rob them... but the three people (2 women and 1 man) are all in silks themselves, and they have a carriage waiting to take them away, so they obviously aren't just poor thieves. El thinks they were sent by the two AS in the palace who sided with Elaida, Teslyn and Joline, and Nyn thinks it might've been the Kin.

I think maybe it was some of the Black Ajah Moghedien had working secretly in the city, like Ispan and Falion, but why would they send some random ppl instead of coming themselves like they do later in the book when they ambush the girls and the Kin as they find the Bowl?

I can't recall if the attempted kidnapping (not attempted killing or they wouldn't have used a blunted arrow) is ever explained later, but maybe it is and I'm just missing something. Or it could be a completely irrelevant occurrence that was just filler. Anyone have any ideas? :help:

  9. 'Cause the "stereotypical" lesbian loves motorcycles and cats, so it's like when Elmer Fudd baits his trap with a carrot; you just know Bugs is going to show up to claim it. I know it's just a stereotype (I fit at least half of it though), but it made me lol. I guess my sense of humor is worse than Galad's though B)
