Sometimes, I... I ... find Aes Sedai-given spankings hot. Particularly Silviana to Egwene.

Happy birthday, bud!
Many happy returns of the day!

Thanks for the snippets, Marie.
I was hoping my suspicions about WoT women going commando were wrong. I can't imagine what it would be like to go panty-less, especially in a dress (which I never wear anyways - dresses, that is, not panties!), and I wince to think of all those times the women "hiked their skirts to their knees and ran" without good chest support.OTOH it makes their reluctance about showing their legs a little more understandable (other than general WoT woman modesty), since pulling their skirts up means someone's more likely to get a good view. And I just suddenly remembered that time when Nyn was being lifted onto a Sea Folk ship on a plank and threatened the men not to look up while she was in the air... And imagine all those times Siuan had to tie her skirts well above her knees while working a fishing boat! One splash and her pink rose would be doused in saltwater.

Sidenote:
<--- Why is Elayne bouncing around like she's been stuffing her cheeks with sugary sweeties more than usual? You'd think, in light of our recent knowledge, all that bouncing would be uncomfortable. -
And... what makes this particular prison "hot"?
A bunch of hot women in stylish metal-studded leather jackets who fight erotically and make out with each other, that's what
If real women's prisons were like that, there'd be a waiting list! -
I liked the one with her father too, and the cute Dancing!Mo.
I also liked the one with the BURN THE WITCH mob (though witches didn't get burned) and the one where she gets chased by a crocodile. I wish we could have seen more of all of those, not just one-sentence mentions!
@ Kaitlin: I had the same thought
I wondered if that was the modern world she popped into, just as a throwaway joke by RJ like some of those ter'angreal he mentions sometimes. Or maybe it was just one of the testing Aes Sedai using her imagination. -
*cheers Jan up*

Just had a bacon, cheese, and scrambled egg panini.

Odd question, but I was wondering what kind of underwear women in WoT's Earth wear. (Don't look at me like that! It's a perfectly innocent question...
)I know they all wear shifts under their dresses, but a shift is basically just an under-dress. What do they wear around their nether regions? The men wear "smallclothes" which I assume to be some kind of lace-up boxers or loincloth, but IIRC what women wear there is never mentioned. Do they not wear any underwear at all and just go commando? What happens if their skirt flies up or they get turned upside down like that time Myrelle did it to Momo in NS?

And what about when they're on their period, how do they keep their menstrual cloths in place?
Also, bras? I know some women can do without, but many just need the support, especially athletic women like Maidens (although it's mentioned that most Maidens except Avi are small-breasted). Even going back to ancient Rome you can see wall murals depicting women exercising with some kind of cloth wrapped around their breasts, so it's not like the concept of a bra is very modern or high-tech.
And what about all those women with "generous bosoms", do they just leave themselves unbound all the time? Some WoT cultures have corsets, but the rest...
Maybe they do wear underwear and RJ simply never mentions it (or I can't remember him doing so), but I find it odd that with all the dressing and undressing women do in this series he'd have forgotten to mention underwear.

Happy birthday!

I'm late so I brought cake:

Yay, thanks for linking this, Marie! I don't really visit other WoT sites so I would never have seen this otherwise.
I too am happy to see that the Tower of Ghenjei will finally be opened.
I just hope it doesn't happen at the very end of the book and leave us with a cliffhanger, postponing our Momo scenes until AMoL! I'm still concerned about what state Moiraine will be in (stilled? weaker? crazy? become lovey-dovey like Siuan with Bryne?) upon her rescue, and also how Sanderson will handle her portrayal. But after so long I've gotten tired of waiting and worrying and just want to get it over with, for better or worse. On another note, why do the characters look different ever cover they appear in? The same artist has been doing the covers for twenty years, you'd think he'd have settled on a look for Mat or Thom by now.

Whoo!
A very happy birthday to you, Kaitlin!

I'm ashamed to like Galina/Therava so much.
Sick and wrong. -
Sometimes I think I'm the only person who actually stops at a stop sign.

My new obsession: Rome, Season 1
That was a fantastic show!

I have serious writer's block; someone help!
Stare at the Caddy-FemDom avatar until an idea hits you... Fang.
(I like pouty Momo btw.

Congrats, Jan!

Since were on the topic of Fealty. Wasn't that because a certain character *I forgot who, think it was a Brown though*, put compulsion on alot of them?
Nah, the sisters who swore fealty to Rand did so because his "ta'veren-ness" made them, a plot point I found absurd and disappointing.
I think you're thinking of Verin, who put some minor Compulsion on the sisters who had already sworn fealty or the ones who were holding off swearing after being captured at Dumai's Wells. We don't find out exactly what she Compelled them to do, but it probably had something to do with helping Rand. Again though, it was pretty minor Compulsion so she didn't outright Compel them to obey him or anything.
I completely agree with you and Marie on the absurdity of AS rankings though. I think it is partly because the wetlands have nobility by birth - so the idea that some are just naturally born to lead (because they were born with high Power levels) seems normal to them. Contrast the Aiel, who have no nobility, no inheritance of chief/Wise One position, and who rank Wise Ones by wisdom and willpower.

QI with Stephen Fry - one of my new favorite shows
So damn funny -
I still have a hangover.
I take it you celebrated St. Patty's day in true Irish tradition then

Can any White Ajah on this forum please explain the logic/rationality behind this next one? It's driving me crazy like I've opened R'lyeh or something.

Being the work-minded gal she is, I think Moiraine would immediately pick up "How to Train Your Dragon" in the bookstore, but then disappointedly put it back once she realized it had nothing to do with what she needed.

Sorry about your great-aunt, Kaitlin. =/ Glad to hear the funeral would've done her proud though

How could you forget? I still see that avatar sometimes in my dreams... my nightmares...
It won't let me forget.

I wonder if this is how Olivia feels in Thom threads.
You're the one who had a Moiraine/Cadsuane BDSM avatar with Mistress Caddy calling her slave Momo "bitch" and forcing her to sing Caddy's praises of awesomeness, so don't blame Laura for starting that madness.

That line is sooo WoT woman-ish.
Even in the face of war, always time for an aside about dresses.
