This thread has a way of resurfacing. I just had a few thoughts I wanted to get out of me crazy head.
New Casting ideas for the movie we may never see but we dream about anyway.
Rand- Josh Duhamel (could never picture a good Rand till I saw some of this guys work)
Lan- Eric Bana (Troy: Directors cut made me think of it. That and he's in some up and coming movie with Rachel McAdams, whom I've always seen as Nynaeve)

Never bought the lover angle.

Why do the Fades smile and smile and smile till about book three and then after that everyone who sees them says "A fade NEVER smiles"!?
The first book has them smiling (EVily) all the time.

The thin side of cloth, Las Vegas (the TV show), bombastic, over the top, angels ripping open the sky, music.
-
AWESOME awesome, awesome! I love Sephiroth all crammed in at the bottom. Wonderful.

@ Kaitlin - My best Prayers for your Dad.

I really like that. I always wanted more of the meat of that triangle.

Alien (The 1979 Movie).
Oh damn that's a good one!
Reruns of Las Vegas (I'm addicted, which is funny because I avoided it when it was really on, but it's super fun!)

Olivia? Hehe. Why? I was gonna show you how to disappear. (Sigh) Very well. My secret remains with me.
-
Yeah, Tarna was an odd one, but I like getting into the heads of the other Aes Sedai. Unlike the Sea Folk.

I can't stand it! No one has said and I thought there was going to be an epic of name wars. How fun that would of been. Oh well, than I shall let the cat out of the bag. Liverella, the reason Moiraine likes the name Maire so much is because that is her actual name.
And thus the war has a shocking, explosive ending! (Just the way we like it) *HOLDS UP SCARY SANGREAL!* All your base are belong to us!!!!! And other diabolic things to come!
(Molly and Holly are cute names too.)
*Strum of the Harp and a Sudden Disappearance*
**Voice in the mists** Olivia, remind me to show you how to do that, sometime.*****
Voice Fadddddeeeessss.....

@Ekho, Yes, Asmodean dervies from Asmodeus. Some believe the Demon of lust is one of the manifestations of Satan. Kind of like the idea of Legion (We are many) or the seven deadly sins being the seven faces of Lucifer. It depends on which theology we're looking at. I'm Forsaken. I'm supposed to know these things.
@Tosh- I KNOW! Awesome stuff. (In a slaughtering of the innocents kind of way)
-
I like John or Alexander for boys. Good strong names.
Probably should skip Asmodean (it derives from a manifestation of the Devil. So does Sammael, Shaitan, and Be'lal)
-
I think Egwene is awesome! Her time as a damane totally rewired her from sweet and innocent and she rose to master manipulator of those who deserved some manipulating. Right woman for the right time.
though I still wish her and Rand were the ones who got together...
I know they abandon that possibility pretty early on, but hey.

Don't worry none. It takes a while but the bitchy self important Aes Sedai eventually get knocked down however many pegs they deserve. The cool ones find ways to stay above it. The Lord of Chaos (and the Crown of Swords) are chalk full of that.
While we're talking about though, I will say I was annoyed with how Jordan built the Nynaeve/Lan love story. It was such a compelling turn to have those two be so into each other. EOTW starts it off so well. I think it could have been given more screen time throughout the series.

We disappear and reappear while playing instruments.
We confound as only Aes Sedai (male or female) can. (we also love the term Aes Sedai)
-
Finish the series.... yes we all need to do that.
I shall warn you, the books take an interesting twist as they go. RJ starts to really branch out in his character view points. Sometimes this is really effective (like with the Forsaken)
Sometimes it's annoying and throws the pace off. Each book is exciting in its own right, but here are a couple of suggestions to consider. Read Crown of Swords and Path of Daggers as if you're reading one book. Story arcs rise and fall through out and not always as we assume they will. Lord of Chaos is great, as is Wintersheart.
The black sheep of the series is Crossroads of Twilight (ironically it also has an awesome title) It has some cool stuff in there worth reading, but it's the first book that even RJ felt wasn't up to snuff. The publishers demanded a book, so he gave what he had. As I say, there are somethings in there that are great, but you don't really need to worry for a while. There are a lot of pages yet.
Knife of Dreams is really enjoyable.

I tried reading the Sword of Truth series but now I'm considering the Game of Thrones.
Also reading a delightful book on Buddhism!

It's just the evolution of hardcover book sales. Once there are paper backs available they can't really ask the same price. Any revenue is good at that point. Do you have a favorite book thus far?
-
I see. Well then may she travel well.
Did Mo dig Thom?

I'm hoping it's a wheel weaves as the wheel wills mystery thing, (so Moiraine is grateful but not "in love") Otherwise, RJ (the light illumine his soul) is just projecting himself onto his old Gleeman Thom and finding a way to be all pervy in his own final books.
However he is into some weird things in that regard. So I'm sure my hopes will be dashed by the obvious.
