  1. Eh, Not as exciting as it sounds, I'm afraid to say. Red Eagle has been trying to get this off the ground for several years. (If I'm not mistaken, they had a hand in the comic series as well... and we all know how that's doing)

They may (eventually) pull it together... but sadly I think the only medium we can safely rejoice in is the video game world. It could live there. There's enough room.

As far as films... it would do better as an epic HBO series or something in that vein. That would give it the time it needs to grow all the plot threads and build characters. Trying to do a half ass film with books stuffed into one or even three films.

LOTR's is a 1000 page book. And that's the whole saga. It lived perfectly as three films. WOT would need a book a film... ALA Harry Potter. Just reading that article made me shake my head a little... that the guy running part of it said (we'll make more if they make money) No.... the guy at the helm needs to have the conviction of a Peter Jackson. If the series is well done, it WILL make money.

The other fear (to my mind) is the series changes it's fantastical focus after LOC. It goes from being High Fantasy Adventure Stories to more of a Political Thriller. That would be an important consideration as a director.

I think they could pull off the 1st three books in three movies. (that would rock)

But the amount of story gets pretty nuts from there on. A TV series could carry that. A film might. But it could also be a heart-breaking train wreck.

    Hoping for the former.

  2. I suppose the bonding without permission is considered rape.... hmmm alrighty, Sivart! You are.... Mat until further notice!

    Good catch Olivia.

The rape thing wasn't what I enjoyed Logain for. It was more the whole supporting the DR and not the Taim Asha'man.

  3. Personas, we're adopting them right now. They're fun. But you're right Sivart. People take it to be something other then themselves. And that's usually out of fear of rejection and other self-esteem issues. It all is what it is. Not always what it should be but I digress.

As I said, my main point is any form of trying to connect and become romantic with someone is much harder then it really needs to be. Go Jan for trying.

  4. ........ That's an all too familiar story these days. You have my empathy, good Sir. The climate of even the simplest courting interaction is about as confusing to navigate as it has ever been. There are no clear roles in the genders anymore. And neither party is able to articulate this. Everyone is too busy playing or surviving mind games. It seems to me that mixed signals are the only thing we of the texting, Ipoding, emailing, generation can do anymore!

Have we lost our ability to be people in these circumstances? I mean it was hard enough before the PC culture where suddenly everyone had to bend over backwards to be more sensitive. Shit, people will frown at you for saying, "Merry Christmas"! Jan your plight struck me because I've had a number of similar experiences in the last few years.

I've been single for going four years, because of how freaking hard it is just to get people to communicate on even a moderately real level. And maybe I expect to much out of people, (I do) but I also suffer from the curse of valuing people and finding time and time again, how few value themselves.

I apologize for this rant and I don't mean this to be an indictment of either gender. I just think the general dehumanization of our culture is doing everything it can to drive us all from each other... so that the only place we ever interact is in a disembodied screen plugged into the wall. My example: I like to people watch! I find it fascinating. Anyone, ever notice how quickly people look away when their eyes catch yours? Some few look back, and there is a momentary connection. Most look away.... afraid.

It's a hard lonely road and I felt bad for Jan.

Anyway, thanks for letting me go on. Love to all.

  5. Ummm, to be a super sexy woman with a male libido? Hmmmmm. Yeah, that's too much power.

@Sivart- Who did Arangar ever rape???? He/She pillowfriended a bunch and gave headaches when He/She wasn't murdering.... but I don't recall a rape.

Maybe you're referring to Balthamel as the rapist and the irony coming after...... (OH DEAR! What a poor choice of expressions.... coming after)

    ;P

  6. It's something of a Paradox.

But if I weren't me I think I'd favor in the realm of Thom, Nynaeve, Rand. (For various reasons)

But I am Asmo, and so there it tis. I do wish he had lasted a few more books. Baddie forced to see the other side is super interesting.

You know who I always found freaky as shit? Bathamel!

The way RJ described him was sooo other worldly. I always saw the mask he wore (as described as being a perfect likeness of a young mans face) as being like a Renissance statue, with the twist that it was laughing wildly, laughing insanely. Oh that and his and Aginor's 1st thoughts are how to best defile Nynaeve. The Forsaken instantly made a powerful and disturbing impression in my mind ever after. It just sounds like a thing of nightmare. I know he was the 1st to go, but he was also one of the 1st seen. My thoughts... ;P

  7. NICE. I like the style. I REALLY LIKE the earlier one of Moiraine firing light beams from her hand.

Some very inspired. Some a little out there. Fain, Morgase.

    (What no Demandred?)

What is up with the feather in Matts hat????

Oh well. It's east to be a creditic.

(and not care about spelling cause it's late)
