Are they/he/it the anti-Dragon? Or... are they/he/it so outta whack that they think they're the Dark One + the Nae'blis or what?

 

Somehow that Forsaken never ceases to confuse me...

Nae'blis is the most powerfull guy (who's in the Shadow of course) who's just one step below the Dark One... or at least that's what the Forsaken think, i believe that Shaidar Haran (sp?) - the Myrrddraal is more powerfull than the Nae'blis.

I don't get how it works.... Is the Nae'blis reborn like the Dragon? Is he the same guy each time? Or... what? Ishy recites to Lews Therin alot of battles, battles in different ages, and what nots that they fought. But... neither of em was an Age of I am sure. Light burn that Forsaken! :x

 

 

I just had a ridiculous thought... what if Mordrin saves Rand at the Last Battle? He was the "Betrayer of Hope" in a previous life, why not betray the Dark One's hope that Ishy is really evil and not just self serving?

The Nae'blis is handpicked by the Dark One. That's why the Forsaken are competing with each other. So no, it's not the same guy each time.

Or at least they don't think it's the same guy. Some of the Forsaken don't believe in life after death per se, so they wouldn't necessarily think it was a rebirth thing. Ishy was pretty nuts when he talked about all the past lives as well.

Nae'blis is a third age name for the leader of all the forsaken and dark forces and is responsible for the spreading of chaos and making plans for the freeing the Dark one. It is not known if there was a nae'blis in the second age.

 

Moridin/Ishy reborn is the Nae'blis. It is right that he should be, 'cos he is the incarnation of the champion of the Dark one, like rand (third age) and LTT(second age) who are the incarnations of the champion of the creator.

 

Shaidar Haran on the other hand is the manifestation of the dark one himself. It is almost like the dark one touches our world through him.

 

EDIT :- remember what happened when the balefires made by Rand and Moridin clashed in the Seventh book?? I don't know if it happened because the two balefires were made of two opposite sources of energy (creator's one-Source and Dark one's True Source). I just thought I should mention it.

Uhm is Moridin/Ishmael the guy in book 7 that saves Rand? Because there Rand says "he couldn't be one of the Forsaken because i know all of their faces thanks to Lews Therin" or smth like that...

It is rumoured that it is Moridin.

 

Some of the things he said would make sense, except he says(I am quoting from memory) "Don't get yourself killed now, a lot of careful planning will be ruined." I wonder why he said that ?? I thought as soon as I read it that it must have been the creator himself.

 

But the talk in the other forums is that it is moridin and I agree.

I don't know, there's no point in letting him live (Rand). Ishamael wanted to kill him so desperatly back in the days (book 3 i think).

A lot can change in a few books. Especially RJ's.

 

I think when Rand's and "Ishy"(I like that better than Mordrin) balefires clash it was probably a result of the fact that they are almost equal in power. The Forsaken are the most powerful channelers other than Rand himself, and Ishy is as powerful if not a hair weaker.

 

And to Kaitlin: When is Ishy not nutty?
