Who here is a lefthander?

Recommended Posts

I remember writting right to left when I first learned how.

I did too. How old were you when you first learned to write? :P I think it's pretty common when you use the other hand. Do you have to use special scissors?

*does almost everything with the right hand except write and throw* I just could never manage how. :D No one would ever buy left handed scissors, though. An extravagance!

I think I might have had a bit of a hard time learning left from right too, when we first started in school.

Anybody can have snacks, really. Silly ones! :D

I was about 6, I started school late and I was more familiar with a keyboard than a pencil. But no, I've never used Left-handed scissors.

It doesn't actually matter when someone learned to read or write, as generally children catch up to each other along the same developmental level within a couple of years. :D But, it's interesting as an individual fact!

It's neat that Sivvy learned about keyboards! *is so old she didn't even see a computer keyboard until she was further along in primary school*

I am a rightie *steals cookie anyway* but I remember how one of the nuns in my schools used to go "only the devil's children write with their left hand". There was this one girl who was a leftie and she just couldn't do anything with her right hand, but this Sister Rose (or Rosie!) would force her to write with her right hand. We were in class 2 (around age 7), and she was really traumatized. It was really sad.

That's sad ;)

I remember when I was in class 1 I used to have a friend who was a leftie and my teachers were ok with him.
