@Janny - It would be like your face and body stopped aging today. You would still get older in your mind, but your body would stay the same, with the same youthful skin texture and everything staying up and not drooping. You would still have youth as you got older, and if you gained weight or lost it it would show and everything, but there would still be this sameness about it.

 

I'm too old already (26) for agelessness, but if I got ageless now it would be like my body would always be as youthful (comparatively) as it is right now.

I thought it was around 26 that their bodies started slowing, Setalle Anan mentions it in one of the books

Yes, but that's lifelong: it doesn't start at any real point. Nynaeve looks young for her age and that was before she turned 26. Since Kate's last post was about agelessness I decided to simply mention Oath bound Aes Sedai and not general channelers.

I was confused then, because Setalle was referring to Aes Sedai bound by the Oaths.

Yes, only Aes Sedai have agelessness because the Oath Rod does it. The other channelers just slow. It's not the same thing because they don't stop aging, they just have a very long lifespan.

Didn't it say somewhere that the three oaths actually greatly lowers the aes sedais lifetime?

The Oaths do cut the lifespan by more than half, I think. It seems like channelers who haven't taken the Oaths could live maybe 800 years and possibly longer. 300 years for an Aes Sedai is an extremely long time.

I think it was more up to 710 years, so the Oath Rod cuts about 400 years off.
