I nominate John Hannah for Thom because he has a softer voice and a really nice Scottish accent as well. If he can tone down a bit (and he can!) it'll make a lovely sing-song voice for Thom. I mean, anyone who's heard him reciting W.H. Auden in "Four Weddings and a Funeral" will know he can hold an audience spellbound.
