you know after rereading EOTW I really wish Jordan would have filled us in on why Moiraine needed to find the green man the first time and why she possibly wanted to get to the eye. When my brother in law met Sanderson at a book signing here he said that Jordan left tons of notes, and considering NS was supposed to be a trilogy i doubt sanderson would have to do too much filling. when he comes back for the release of the next book to our borders i will have to hound him about it.

As always I have issues with young Moiraine. She's irritating and adorable at the same time, like some half-retarded kitten.

Guess who also says such formal warnings (in face the exact same sentence)? Cadsuane. She told Moiraine that. And Moiraine didn't heed her at all.

Moiraine knows what's best! According to Moiraine. Did Cadsuane want to set her on those Aes Sedai like the girls became Siuan's BA hounds later on in the series? I still love Cad.

So Moiraine is interviewing mothers blah blah blah and she thinks that commoners would be more forgiving of strange behavior of nobles because they except that of lords and ladies. I found it a bit funny that she would be aware that the little people assume blue bloods like herself are weird. Probably Siuan said something, but still!

So the NS ebook cover came out. See it here on TOR.

 

I rather like it. Her hands are kind of in a weird position, and for some reason Lan has touches of gray in his hair already (though he's not described as having gray in NS, only in the series proper IIRC). But other than that I like the pose, the dead, wintry atmosphere, and Moiraine's outfit. Like most of the ebook covers, the art is well-done, finely detailed, and for the most part pays much more attention to how the characters/clothing are supposed to look than the original covers.

Ooh, yes he did do a great job for her, didn't he? Everyone in the first 3 or so issues of the comics looks gorgeous, even random characters like Tarna or Kerene. (Not really what I'd pictured for most of the characters, but still very prettily drawn.) It's like the Tower recruits from shampoo commercials. Then again, looking at the books proper, I guess most of the women are described as at least "pretty". And women in comic books in general are almost always above averagely good-looking.
