I was posting those to help think of what a frilly Momo would look like to Tosh though, Olivia. She might wear some on her dresses but she'd not be decked out in millions of ruffles either as she'd hate looking too precious.

I think the first gown is a Rococo style, which would be later than the timeline RJ sort of set Randland in (16th without gunpowder). However, Rococo had those giant hoops that Cairhienin are so fond of. Moiraine doesn't seem to follow the style of her fellow shorties that much though. Early Cairhien style was more Florentine according to the comics though, so who knows. Oh yes, and RJ had them start to wear those odd breeches and skirt combos like women in the 1950s wore when they were starting to transition into slacks. I am too lazy to look up an example.

 

RJ and fashion: slashes of cream... that is all I am going to say.

Honestly, I don't think he paid much mind to it, as much as he did, well, everything else. (God all the CREAM!).

 

Although, I'm thinking of her in 21st century dresses anyway (when I say high fashion...not when I'm reading the books) so I guess I don't make sense either.
