I've read Tipping the Velvet. In fact, I've lent it out to a friend at the moment...should get it back sometime. And Affinity, by the same authour. God, I love Sarah Waters!

I did like Diana (because my fanfics, I assume, you thought I'd like her? :P) but Florence was my favourite.

Have you seen the televised adaptions of either one?

Yeah, I thought you'd like the dominating sex-addict. :P She's my favorite from that book.

I didn't know there were any, but I found them on YouTube, so when I have the chance I will definitely watch them!

Well I've watched both Fingersmith and Tipping the Velvet! I knew they'd have to tone down the harsher parts of both books (especially Diana!), but they didn't soften it up enough to lose important plot points, for which I'm grateful. I can't decide which one I liked more, but they were both very good adaptations and made me smile at the end.

All the women are good actors and very beautiful, but I have to say Florence was the most endearing and easiest to fall for. But Kitty was the most attractive to me, especially in her tuxedo (those Victorian outfits with the tux, top hat, cloak, and cane all in black and white have always had me willing to eat out of a woman's hand - there's no sexier outfit!) =) Thanks so much for recommending the movies to me, Laura!!

 Oh, I was happy too.

Well, you know that Fingersmith was my favourite...but I have to say in Tipping the Velvet, Nan's voice grated on me something shocking, which was probably why I didn't like it as much.

I much prefered the dresses they wore back then to the tuxedos...but each to his own, I suppose.
