alright guys, so tonight i'm going to read that fateful chapter for the first time in Fires of Heaven (trauma!!) *bites nails*

I laughed the first time I read it. Don't kill me, Olivia the I.

 

The reason I laughed was because I was also one of those readers who ended up being spoiled as to Moiraine's fate. But book five was so loooooong and I kept thinking "when does she DIE?!" so when it finally arrived, I was kind of relieved.

Moiraine, I know what you mean because my hubby and brother in law already read the series so it let slip. so yes i knew it was going to happen so i guess it could be worse cause there was no shock-value, but it tortured me through the whole book. and my husband teasing me and reminding me how much i would cry did not help! i just finished now (1:30 am) and i'm sending him to Dunkin Donuts for an iced coffee for me as penance for his cruelty

 

but im even more convinced now though that she will come back (but im just wondering how in the world im gonna get through like 6 more books without her in them?!

 

what really got me was what then said about her being a warrior and then his blue eyes were "red rimmed" *sniff* *tear*

I was not happy when I read it! Yes, that part with Lan and some other parts had me choked up afterward. It is still not easy for me to read that part without feeling sad for Mo.

 

But keep reading, at least until you get to some parts in 6! Even after Moiraine is still important to the story in a way. She's not forgotten about.

I never get that characters die when they go through portals and stuff like that. I get beheadings and being slowly eaten by ants and such....especially if they go "Ohno! I'm gonna die for real! I'm not just pretending to serve some dramatic point or will be resurrected in a later chapter. Arghhhh! Now I'm dead."

Well, Mo is pretty much Gandalf so of course she had to "die" dramatically and return later on (in a super amazing upgraded form?!?). But because she's a feeble woman she needs some strong men to get her back *sigh*

 

Thom is also Gandalf! He "died" in book one to defend "the hobbits" from the forces of evil. But he returned weaker XD Limping onward in his quest to save everyone.

yes, did also think about that parallel, that Thom also "died" but really didn't and i dont think it would be ironic that the same thing would happen to his future-wife.

 

and yes vertex for sure it was way to shady a way to die so yes she has to still be alive (too much foreshadowing too) yet you still cant help get into the mood that she is dead tho since thats what everyone else thinks.
