I have also found the covers of the series incredibly lackluster. Additionally, I have a very hard time pegging the architecture of Randland's main nations. What sort of time-era do they exist in? Medieval? Enlightenment? I get they lack gunpowder, but I need a frame of reference I am unable to get.

Temperatures here aren't so bad at night. During the day they've been annoying lately. We're getting mid-to-high 90s, but with the humidity going through the roof heat indexes keep putting us 110-115.
When it rains it only means that tomorrow will be worse.
Ironically, this is also the time of year I spend the most time outside.
