I just got the most horribly insulting email calling me homophobic
Followed by
What... provoked that?

Ooo, what for?

I have done it, I have killed my room! Or at least my annoying computer desk. This suits me much better. Ah... floor.

I will never underestimate the complexity of the electronic world again.

While I'm not all for the taking women down a peg or two thing in general, Cadsuane needs it. I don't want Rand to kill her, nor do I attribute her attitude to her sex, but good night to her behavior. That goes for a large majority of the characters, in fact.
There's a reason Moiraine was more effective in general than Cadsuane, and it doesn't just come from her breakdown in the Fires of Heaven. Moiraine was always NICER than Cadsuane. She treated The Dragon Reborn like he was a person (as far as that goes with someone as wool-headed as Rand.)
If I had to pick an issue in WoT to hate, it'd be how EVERYONE in power (political, One Power, skill, etc.) abuses it. Cadsuane's too used to being top dog. Yes, I hate the way the White Tower determines informal rank.

Reading Twilight before all the hype was... kinda funny now. I hated it, but burned through the first 100 pages before just skimming it and its sequels.

Awww... kids! Congrats!
Welcome back, this forum seems to have a knack for coming back to life, doesn't it?
-
Maybe it's because of our superior love for Moiraine?
Why does the spell check not recognize Moiraine, anyway?
-
If AoL is Second Age, maybe there was some leftover history about prostitutes in the AoL's that she was allowed to reference being a Forsaken.
As for Gawyn... uh... maybe he's just relentlessly horny and everything is about sex to him now?

How exactly does Moiraine have herself introduced under an alias? Wouldn't saying her name was something other than Moiraine violate one of the Oaths?
Does she have Lan do it? Or does the Oath Rod make exceptions for such things? I was under the belief it was very literal in the Oaths taken on it.

How do you figure?

Oooo...
I'd just sit and waste my extra 12 days of life.

I just realized I am younger than Tosh by 12 days.

Huh?

Cold potatoes.
I already ate all the fruit in my house.

Thom I like.
Thom/Mo confused me, though. It still does. I'm not overly opposed to it, but I don't root for Thom.
As for pairing Moiraine with someone... She strikes me as an individual perfectly happy alone, albeit in love with her work. So... post-Last Battle Momo might be very different from the Mo we remember.
(Returning Mo might be different anywho...)

I can't believe I haven't commented on this topic yet.
Yes, new year, new decade, and tenthies leaves an odd feeling on my tongue.
No resolutions. Decided to drop soda though (not a resolution of the new year, of course). I don't move enough to justify it, nope.

Jan?

Have him calm down, be rational, and play by the rules.
I dunno, and dump the harem.
Honestly, I am still sad about the Eg/Rand thing from the beginning. Not sure if I liked it more than his harem or less, but it makes me sad that those two will probably almost explode each other next time they meet.

Well... Black Ajah EVERYWHERE.
I find that everyone at or near the White Tower seems to have gone just as bonkers as Rand, while everyone near Rand must suffer from constant headaches. Min seems to becoming increasingly inconsequential, or maybe that's just wishful thinking.
Although, for some reason, I liked Rand more than usual. The entire story. Not sure why. I also liked N more than usual, a LOT more than usual.
Siuan is mild cheddar IMO. She's been cheese ever since she was un-importanteded, but her fangirliness for the man whose laundry she does made me... laugh in a not so good way.
Oh, and I liked Caddy a hair more than I usually do. I think it was her spanking a Forsaken.

It looks like the spell is broken Mirror Boy, and your haunting duality at an end.
Its good to read you again Siv, what will you be writing about? Do you know, or is an idea at this very moment slowly being churned into readiness in your mind, soon to gush out in torrents of delicious, creamy essay form onto the vigorously lapping cat's tongues of our minds?
The essay prompt is to examine the "Morality of Profit".
Fun. (and my spell may be broken, but... uh... okay, maybe it's just that!)
I haven't found any of Jan's book at the bookstores around here. Then again, I had the title of only one, so I wouldn't know them if they bit me.
Happy birthday, Ajit!
