  1. I always hated how close Saerin and Seaine were in spelling.

Yeah, I get those two mixed up alot. :? When I bother to pay attention to the "hunt for BA" plotline, that is.

Now. I cannot be the only one who had impure thoughts of what Yukiri was implying. Don't try and deny, Olivia!

Of course I won't try to deny it! :P I'm someone who thought that "A rod, as thick as her wrist, bright red and smooth and rounded, firm rather than hard .... in her hand, it almost felt hot!" ter'angreal that Elayne "experimented" with that one time was a dildo! :)

  2. I think you've done pretty well so far! Just maybe move Mo's forehead/top of nose a little farther out. I do like their faces though, I think you've got it close to the NS comic (before the comics got crappy artwork, that is). And I like the kissy pose they are in :)

  3. Um, ok, random. Speaking of cake, I never understood the expression "You want to have your cake and eat it too", meaning someone who is trying to have two good things instead of having to compromise and decide which one to pick.

I get the message behind that expression, but the expression itself doesn't make sense to me... :? OF COURSE I want to have a cake and eat it too! What else would I do if I had a cake?! Put it on the mantelpiece and stare at it? Why would I have a cake and NOT eat it? My mom says it means "you want to eat your cake now and also keep it" but why would I keep it, just so I can eat it later? Why wait?

By the way, cake > pie, by far. Discuss. :P

edit: Momo is rustling around in her cage as I'm typing. :) I really need to take pics of her sometime.

  4. I found some new WoT comic artwork (not 100% sure if it's official but it looks to be in the same style as the EotW comics so I put it in this thread rather than fanart; A Mod can correct me if I am wrong) and I have to say I like them alot!

    1) This is a much better Trolloc than that other sketch I remember floating around earlier, and here's a creepy-ass Draghkar.

    2) Tam finds baby Rand in the snow. I lol'd at the tiny little wisp of red hair poking out of the swaddling. :faint:

    3) Here's Fain looking like an emaciated Alan Rickman on a bad day.

    4) The boys about to get surprise buttsecks from a Fade :hbang:

    5) The old guy who won the lottery of life by getting Mo to fall for him wearing a cloak that could double as a freaking circus tent it's so big.

    6) Nyn wearing a cute frowny-face.

    7) I really like this one, especially Elyas's wolf-eyes.

    8) The 13 people (besides Mo) who make the series worth reading.

    9) And last but definitely not least, Mo and Lan kicking some Trolloc ass!

  5. For instance...I love Romanda! Oh my god do I love her! I mean, I always knew I liked her, but now I love her. She is just so awesome.

Okay, I'll bite. Why do you love Romanda so much? :hbang: And does your Romanda love now outshine your Cadslutane love? :faint:

  6. I think having Egwene around also helped (hurt?) the Wise Ones' perception of AS. Momo retains AS dignity and power, but to them Egwene the "Green AS" was just a foolish Wise One's apprentice whom they could assign chores and menial labor to and insult/call down when they wanted. Having one "AS" as an apprentice probably made it easier for them to take (real) AS as apprentices later on. DAMN YOU, EGGY! :kissy:

  7. I think the Wise Ones were kinda unimpressed with Aes Sedai by TFoH, but when the Tower AS kidnapped Rand the Wise Ones saw it as really dishonorable and now pretty much hate/disdain AS in general (except for exceptions like Laura mentioned).

As for Momo, I hope the Wise Ones will continue to treat her with the kind of stand-offish respect she got in TFoH - I think she probably went up in their estimation after she sacrificed herself to defeat Lanfear, since they would see that as really honorable.

    TFoH ch20:

Moiraine being Aes Sedai offset her being Cairhienin, but Rand was never sure how much.
  8. Ok, first off a question: is Faile Davram's heir? This is important to my interests. I know I should know this, but I really try to pay as little attention to the child as I can.

In TSR she mentions that her two older brothers died (IIRC, one fell from his horse and the other killed in the Blight), making her Davram's eldest child. So I guess she is his heir, unless Saldea has an "only boys inherit" custom, which doesn't seem likely because they're ruled by a Queen. I think the "Broken Crown" refers to a ruler not having any children, since Tenobia never married... So yeah, Faile is probably next in line, so her and Perrin's kids will probably end up on the Saldaen throne. Scary thought :getcookie:

And I don't blame you for not knowing - I despise Faile too. I think most people do.

  9. Oh, what's that about the blueberry tea metaphor?!

I think I mentioned it before. Lemme find it for you.

I giggled at the scene with Galina and Erian near the end [of LoC] after they kidnap Rand. Galina thinks how pretty Erian is and hits on her, offering to bring Erian to her tent for some "blueberry tea", but Erian says she doesn't want any "blueberry tea", so Galina goes back to her own tent to "drink that blueberry tea by herself". ...I can't be the only person who thinks "blueberry tea" was a euphemism. :ahug:

I don't know if that's what Marie was going for, but it's the first thing I thought of when I saw it mentioned alongside Raul's "masterful hands" ;P

  10. I have a soft spot for the horndog Galina

I always had a soft spot for her too ;P Maybe just because she was one of the only unrepentant lesbians in WoT, and she got some screen time to show it off. Although the situation has all kinds of unfortunate implications that she (and fellow lesbian Therava) are utterly and irredeemably evil. ;P Somehow I found her "relationship" with Therava hot, even though it's really twisted and there are only a few non-detailed references to it. Maybe I am just that desperate to read about some more WoT pillow friends (although KoD sure had plenty of them).

And I agree with reason #2. I haven't liked the Aiel since TSR, but those Shaido are some really sick bastards. :ahug: And it's not just Therava and Sevanna; what about all the warriors who made random wetlanders into slaves, and all those Shaido men who kept raping the gai'shain women. (I think it's even implied that Alliandre was raped in the camp.)

Even though I like Galina, I don't feel sorry for her (I'm not saying whether she deserved it or not, just that I don't feel sorry) because she never once expresses genuine remorse for her crimes, even in her head. The whole thing is just another reason for me to hate the Aiel in general though. It's a close draw between them and the Seanchan for "most offensive & annoying culture in WoT" for me.

  11. I loved the blueberry tea metaphor xD Even though I liked in better as a lesbo metaphor in the books. CATMWLT is hilarious, as always! ;P We're lucky to have two updates so quickly.

@ Kaitlin: lol, Elaida would make a good daddy... ifyaknowwhatimean. :ahug:

  12. I find his entire relationship with Elayne to be just wrong.

Oh God yes. But what bothered me more about that whole situation was Nynaeve's bizarre internal explanation for Elayne's behavior! I wasn't sure whether to laugh or gag when Nyn started on about young women flirting with their fathers to compete with their mothers, like some gender-flipped Oedipal complex. Wtf was RJ thinking?:?
