Ah! A disaster!

Oh the woe I've been cast

Among the worst but not last,

Ill time and ill thought

All my prose comes to naught,

I labored in argument

Yet I've no way to augment

The skills of an elf

Oh my poor self,

Next year

I fear

Comes all the faster.

 

 

So generic, so boring, so... gah!

I have recently learned that my grand AP Literature assignment next year is a bulky poetry mess... And I just don't have it.

 

Anyway, a little practice and a little thing for this slowly decaying topic.

Have I taken on the art of the hypocrite?

Following in the path of my father?

Dabbling in this sacred taboo?

 

I can no longer tell which side I stand for.

My heart is confused and convoluted.

Is this the devils temptation?

Or demise by my own creed?

 

My memories persuade me I

Sunset Memories

 

Life could've been,

What life would've been.

But the day goes by and it still hasn't been.

And I wonder what would it have been?

 

Thoughts of reminiscence of days long past.

Are an enjoyable pleasure akin to lying on the grass with the setting sun and a soft breeze.

As ecstasy they are, poison they are.

For being caught in the past is a dangerous trap.

 

Close your eyes and smile, but only for a short while.

Up and forward you must go in life.

For the setting sun waits for no one.

Not even bittersweet memories, of a life, long past, that you once dreamed would last.

here's one of my less angsty poems (I was going to useone of my love poems, but then i realised it has...suggestive content mwahahaha). I whipped it up in one English class.
