Timeframes..bleh. It was 998 when they left, Rand/Mat/Perrin were 20, so Eggy was 18. I only know that because...I don't know.

 

I can't think of someone to play her, simply because...I've never formed a clear idea of what she looks like.

RJ has made some contradictions with Egwene's age. In the beginning, the boys are 20, and she is two years younger than them (so 18). And yet in the later books (which is one to two years later) she is referred to as being an eighteen year-old Amyrlin.

Maybe when they started, the boys were 17-18 and they just said "twenty years since the Aiel War/rebirth of the Dragon" to make it a rounder number.

^^Ah, I knew there was a reason I placed her as possibly 16. 16 or 18 - either way, Winona Rider is still way too old, in my opinion. Though that hasn't stopped Hollywood in the past. I mean, look at Buffy

RJ gets ages of Aes Sedai wrong all the time! Look at Alanna; at first she's held the shawl for 40 years (making her around 60 at least) and then she's an Accepted with Moiraine/Siuan.

 

So I don't think they got boy's ages wrong, because the Aiel War ended in a specific year (978), Moiraine was 22 when she was raised to the shawl and started the search, and since we know her birth year (956), it's obvious Rand really is 20 (Moiraine is 22 years older than him, she's 42 when she goes to Two Rivers, thus Rand is 20).

Anyway, I always thought an animated movie would be better, because they'll never find the perfect actors.

They just shouldn't make a movie. All good books seem to be made into sucky movies. See clan of the cave bear. Good movies are soemtimes made iunto bad books too. Lets face it no movie could ever live up to a good book. Not now. Not neve. "Exceptions made occasionally."

An animated movie would probably be best i agree, however you have to admit it is great fun thinking up casts...there are some great ones on wotmania

As for egwene, the best actress I'v seen cast for this part is Emmy Rossum:

We should just all get together and make a Moiraine Show (like space ghost coast to coast maybe? ). Vertex already agreed to play her. *nod* Then it'd be MW ruled and any other character time would have to be limited to at least ten minutes less than Momo would get per episode. This would exclude Elaida, Lan, Cadsuane, Nynaeve... and anyone else one of us obsesses over (oh, Galad!).
