You read correctly, I think Jude is a good actor and he doesn't look completely different from what I pictured Moridin as, the only other actor I could imagine in this part is Christian Bale, what do you think about him?

Hell, I'd do anything for a chance of oosquai.

Emily Blunt would be a great Siuan! I always like Claire Forlani for her as well. And I would say she was pretty: " She was nearly a hand taller than Moiraine and was pretty, if not quite beautif

Also I have new suggestions for Moiraine (I may be a member of a WoT casting group on facebook now cos y'know I'm still cool and all that😉) Janet Montgomery or Sarah Greene

Ah,

This opened an interesting discussion, did it not? You'll all forgive me but I must throw my two cents in. I really enjoy the list you put together (enticingly so because these kind of thoughts do keep me up at night) Let me interject a teeny bit of my background. I'm a filmmaker (at the beginning of my career mind) I graduated from school a year ago. I've been pursuing this since age 6.

So these kind of subjects are particulary fun to me :D

I actually enjoy much of the casting from your old list Moiraine.

I love the choices for-

Lan and Thom- both hadn't occurred to me and I loved them. Michael Wincott in particular would be playing against type, which would be very cool given his body of work as villians.

Lanfear couldn't be more perfect in Catherine Zeta Jones and Orlando as Matt, yeah that's GOOD casting. And OF COURSE Brad Pitt is Galad. He's all but described so in the book.

Here's my thoughts on the ones I'd see change (Just thoughts, mind. Something to think about.)

Angelica Huston as Elaida is fine, but I think it's kinda predictable. I always saw a cold Michelle Pfeiffer myself. Can be pretty and steel cruel as well.

Egwene..... Winona Ryder....... yeah, I could see it. Age wish I saw Rose Byrne (from Troy?) more in that role.

Nynaeve, ah Nynaeve...... I always think Rachel McAdams when I see her. Both harsh and soft. Jennifer Garnier.... she just looks too 12 year old for my taste. (Not to offend any of her fans) This is just one Forsaken's opinion :hump:

Perrin, I like Karl Urban..... but he's kind of old I think. That and Perrin has a softness (a soulfulness even) that I haven't seen in Urban. Plus one must consider the Lord of the Rings factor. He WAS Eomer. And that might cloud him as Perrin. It's like casting Viggo as Lan, a good thought, but it'd be hard NOT to see Aragorn instead of Lan. Who knows, maybe Urban would surprise me, since I can't think of a good replacement. (DISCLAIMER: Perin's another of my favorites so I'm picky about him)

Rand........Jared Leto? That's the only one that really throws me. I love his work, but Rand has to have a gravitas. A presence that will eventually overwhelm everyone else. Jared Leto is a strong actor, but as the Dragon Reborn? ....... I don't see it. This is the character (like Perrin) that I have an even harder time putting a face on. James Franco has come to mind on occasion.... but I don't even know if I really like that. What do you all think? Any other suggestions?

I love this stuff. Strum of the harp and a sudden disappearance!

PS- Rachael Weisz is actually a really good idea for Moiraine! I also give kuddos to whomever decided on Uma Thurman and Guy Pierce! Though why haven't we come up with an Elayne?

I don't know which Laura you were refering to :P , but i agree Jan, David Tennant would be wasted as Padan fain, not to mention the fact that I would have thought he was too young

I was actually referring to the other Laura, but you'll do too! ;P Laura1 has banned me from mentioning in her presence that which makes David Tennant currently famous, so maybe I can torture you instead...

oh, right, off topic!

Don't you need someone eviller for Padan Fain? (Tennant is 40+, isn't he? Is that too young?) I think a number of Bollywood actors would fit the role! I shall look for photos! :P

Somehow I can't picture Rachel Weisz as Moiraine either. I love her, but as Moiraine?! Nah.

To Brynefan-

I could see that. Though Brendan Gleeson comes to mind as well.

Are you serious? :P I have no idea who that person is, but I found pictures using google. Never! Over my dead body! He looks like Onslow in Keeping Up Appearances.

I'm looking for a better Bryne to put on that list. Clive Owen might be a bit too tall. I've heard people suggest Colin Firth, but I think he's a bit too soft. I don't really know of that many actors. For the last year I've traded my TV time for computer time, and I tend to watch South Park and Family Guy when I do.
