hehe i have to be honest here and say that i hadn't seen or heard of her before whitney posted about her here, which is probably something to with me flatly refusing to watch horror films, and i don't really watch that much tv either. lol but from the pictures, she's the best idea we've had for liandrin!

Well, she hasn't really been around too long, well famously. But once she landed the role in Alias, her career started to take off. I read some stuff on her. Anyway. I think she's a new up and coming actress.

 

I'm open for any other suggestions for Liandrin. Mel was just my first thought, and I quite liked it. But perhaps there's someone out there I could like more.

I've always imagined Elayne this way:

Nicole is too old to play Elayne. But someone that looks like her and is like 20 years younger would probably work.

I have to throw in some of my own suggestions here.

 

I admit this was a topic I gave extended thought before I even found people's cast lists online.I must say I came to the conclusion that casting a movie like this would require a horrendously huge budget, esp. for all the big-name actors and actresses that are being thrown around here.

 

I am working on a sketch book right now, and I am attempting to refine my abilities for drawing the human figure. When it came to faces, my mind had automatically associated people in this world with characters from the WoT. I tried to find several mugs so that I could draw the characters more or less similarly to the people in RL.

 

Looking at Marie's cast list, I was surprised to see a lot of similarity between hers and my own, but there are a couple of exceptions, which are also shared with Stone Dog's list mentioned here http://stonedog.org/wot/castsurvey.htm.

 

Here are some people you might have overlooked.

 

Jason Scott Lee, as Mazrim Taim:

 

 

Let's face it -- Saldaeans are decidedly Asian in appearance. This, coupled with Lee's powerful physique and demeanor of haughtiness exhibited in "Dragon", the story of Bruce Lee, give him all the right characteristics of Rand's evil factotum, with the possible exception of height. Then again, as it pertains to sketching, height can be easily adjusted, and amazing things can be done with a camera.

 

Jesse Metcalfe, as Galad Damodred:

 

 

You may recognize this debonair young man as Gabrielle Solis' sneaky gardener in the hit series "Desperate Housewives". Younger than other suggestions such as Ben Affleck, and prettier, too, Metcalfe makes for a much better Galad.

 

Capt. Dale Dye as Furyk Karede

 

 

Capt. Dale Dye, USMC ret., has made many a movie appearance for his ability to recapture the spirit of a commanding military officer, including such acclaimed works as Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, and Platoon. Plus, this man would not have to fake the Seanchan accent!

 

I think Stone Dog's Aiel suggestions are ridiculous. Aiel are not black, but tan with red/blond hair. Like sun-baked Russians or Irishmen. Here are a few suggestions for Aiel:

 

Andrew Bryniarski (Leatherface, Street Fighter)

 

 

Oleg Taktarov (Bad Boys 2, 44 Minutes)

 

 

Dolph Lundgren (Rocky IV, The [old] Punisher)

 

 

Tom Berenger (Platoon, Sniper)

 

 

Sam Phillips (Die Hard with a Vengeance)

 

 

 

There are a few others I would change, but there's a few for y'all to consider.

 

ETA: Tom Jane would make a superior Al'Lan Mandragoran. Who better to play the Uncrowned King of Malkier than The Punisher??? Look at him -- the face of Death Incarnate, yet he's no Gaidal Cain, so one could imagine a Nynaeve character falling in love with him without too much effort.

 

 

Michael Wincott would make a better Slayer, or a myrddraal template, methinks.
