Right so my quest to do anything other than uni work has led to My Cast List being created. At the moment its only really the basic characters, but I'm going to try and update it regularly

I was thinking that they should ignore the Ageless trait for the Aes Sedai. There are too few roles for older women in Hollywood but tons of talented actresses.

 

And along that line of thinking they should cast Brad Pitt as Thom. Just put a mustache on him and forget about the incredible age of his character. :] It would increase the time I pay attention to the movie screen when the Aes Sedai are not on it.

Its 2011 already. I suggest that the casts be changed. There are actors who would really pass as one of the characters for the suggested movie of wheel of time, if ever there will be a movie for this one just like Lord of the Rings. Actors may be included in this are Paul Walker, Madeleine Stowe can be Moiraine, Ashton Kutcher, Orlando Bloom is a good choice as Matrim Cauthon or maybe Tom Wisdom. How about Brandon Routh, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman can be Morgase or maybe one of the Forsaken, Jessica Biel, Connie Nielsen can be one of the Wise Ones. Damien Lewis can be one of the Aiel. RAchel Weisz can be Anaiya. Monica Belluci can be Berelain. You will think, I am dreaming! Well, there are lot more. Saldaeans, as Jordan described them, for me resembles the facial characteristic of an Asian.

Hello, anewor! (Rowena?) A warm welcome to Moiraine's World to you! Those are some good choices of actors, and lots of big names. Tom Wisdom looks like he could make a convincing Mat, and I think Brandon Routh could do Galad.

 

 

Saldaeans, as Jordan described them, for me resembles the facial characteristic of an Asian.

I always pictured them in my head as looking like Native Americans. Tall, dark hair, bold aquiline noses, tilted almond-shaped eyes.

updating the cast list wont be easy since its a group choice kind of thing. there are members of this forum who have said Moiraine and all Aes sedai and even Robert freaking Jordan are incorrect about the definition of wilder. So um, prepare for debate.
