Perrin has always been a favorite of mine.
What are some of your favorite scenes in The Wheel of Time series?: Pretty much anything with Perrin in the later books

I quiver in fear.

Yeah. Who the flip killed Asmodean? And, beyond that, what's up with Moiraine? Is she alive or not?

My fear has reached new terrifying peaks of intensity.

Hum. . .Thom. He's more interesting to me. Plus, he has that cool mustache. Old guys should have cool drooping mustaches.

I knew this hidden cyanide pill would come in handy one day.

I would much rather be the guy who writes the middle fifty chapters of this book

Holy crap. Middle 50?! I agree with Brynefan, It's going to be a freakin monster of a tome!

Well, he seems like a big fan of the series, although that doesn't qualify him to write it. I haven't read his other work so I don't know his style. But he seems to have an okay sense of humor and grasp on detail, and he did say he'd reread the series a few times and stick as close to RJ's outline as possible. I too was worried about the Moiraine detail, but we'll see how it turns out. Even if it's a total flop it won't change my opinion of the Wheel of Time or how much it inspired me  Guess we'll have to wait till Fall 2009 to find out, ugh

I don't worry about Moiraine. He hasn't gone through the material yet. It's bound to be there somewhere. He can't give away plot either, if he should happen to know in the future.

I haven't read his work either, though I visited his homepage yesterday. He seems to like those diabolical stars and strange rocks.

I'm starting to get over my first reaction to this news. I think he might actually do a decent job, his other work seems interesting to me atleast.

I'm envisioning how aMoL would look if Stven Erikson wrote it. It is both a beautifull and a horrible sight to behold.

Sanderson's like of Thom still worries me though.
