Childhood crushes

Who did you have serious undying love for as a little kid?

 

I didn't know anything about actors playing characters, so I had crushes just on these characters themselves:

 

Mrs. Muir, from the Ghost and Mrs. Muir. So unafraid of crusty old Rex Harrison's ghost. So restrained and pretty. I was deeply in love at five years old.

 

Rex Harrison! <3 As he was in My Fair Lady. I have to say that there's still a soft place in my heart for him. Still the same crusty old guy but somehow I didn't connect the two movies back then.

 

Angela Lansbury in Bedknobs and Broomsticks. She was getting a little old but she was magical and fun, so there was that. And there was the singing! Even when little I always loved good singers best.

 

Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch. Who let me watch this movie?? I didn't understand the sexual component to her but I loved how sweet she was and frank. Awwe. <3

 

edited to add: I forgot to add Moiraine! *shames* When I was a kid I used to have a crush on her from the cover of EotW. She looked weirdly drawn but very brave and important. When I started reading the series I wanted to either be like her or Min (young Min) moreso than really having a crush but considering that this is MW she should be included!

When I was in college I'm fairly sure I was in love with my cricket captain. Does that count?!

 

But my biggest childhood crush has to have been Mr Spock.

Well, I was a young teen rather than a child when I saw the series, but Xena: Warrior Princess was definitely one of my first crushes. I feel bad for all the little girls today who have role models like Britney Spears, Bella Swan, or Hannah Montana. Xena was beautiful, strong, honorable, intelligent, and independent. Lucy Lawless still makes my chest flutter to this day, whatever role I see her in.

 

And, of course, Moiraine Sedai. So powerful and mysterious. And I've come to really like the way she was drawn in the comics.

*sigh* Yeah, I know what you mean by role models for young girls these days. I never watched much of Xena, but yeah, I did have a bit of a thing for her

I was always a fan of things with an "X" in the title.

 

Xena wasn't a show I really watched, but she was in one of my favorite Simpsons episodes. It was right up there with all the early Treehouse of Horror ones.

I also spent a lot of time pulling a ruler out of the back of my shirt and pretending to be He-Man, going "By the powers of Grey Skull" or whatever! *blush* Though I didn't have a crush on him or anything.

My crushes aren't lots of devoted. They are awfully casual and fickle. If I had been a girl, I might have been slutty even.

Honestly I don't think I had any childhood crushes...or atleast I just don't remember anymore.
