First, a bit of background. Let's do it in story format. It's so much more fun that way!

 

L. Sedai and Gaidin 17 about to leave Party

 

L. Sedai's Female Friend: Wait, before you go, I have a gift for you. It's from my trip to the Phillipines.

 

L. Sedai: *charming smile* You didn't have to do that!

 

Friend: *presents gift of real pearl necklace*

 

L. Sedai: *kisses and hugs friend* It's beautiful. *smiles warmly* Thank you so much. *clips around neck*

 

L. Sedai and Gaidin 17 at home

 

Children: *whiny* *tired from too much fun with Grandmother at the zoo*

 

L. Sedai: Gaidin, I feel very tired. I must lay my head down to nap for a while.

 

Gaidin 17: *reflects lovingly how she can take away his tiredness but not her own* Go ahead. You need some rest.

 

L. Sedai: *smiles gratefully* Thank you. *glides gracefully to bedroom* *locks door*

 

2 hours Later

 

Gaidin 17: *knocks*

 

L. Sedai: *still tired* *opens door* *lays back down*

 

Gaidin 17: *walks over to bed* *kiss* Liverella Sedai...

 

L. Sedai: *heavily lidded eyes* *smiles lightly* hmmm?....

 

Gaidin 17: *smiles back* *senses he's treading in dangerous waters* Take that necklace of pearls off. You look like an old lady.

 

L. Sedai: *masking severe irritation* *rolls onto side, waves hand* I'm still tired. I'll be up in a little while.

 

Gaidin 17: *leaves, closing door*

 

L. Sedai: *unmasks irritated expression* *fingers pearls* *unsnaps neckalce* *walks out of bedroom* *has cold demeanor*

 

Gaidin 17: *amused* *catches L. Sedai coming around corner and takes her hands*

 

L. Sedai: *looks away*

 

Gaidin 17: *smiles* My Aes Sedai, are you feeling upset about what I said about those pearls?

 

L. Sedai: *says nothing*

 

Gaidin 17: I'm sorry. *smiles warmly*

 

L. Sedai: *iciness thaws somewhat* *still speaks cooly* *natural manipulative quality emerges* It's fine, my Gaidin. But really, if you're going to insult the jewelry I do wear, perhaps you should buy me something else to replace it. After all, we've been bonded for 6 years and I can't recall the last time I received some such from you.

 

Gaidin 17: No, really? *looks thoughtful*

 

L. Sedai: *sits regally while Gaidin 17 stands thinking* *secretly heart is totally melted by this point*

 

Gaidin 17: You know what, I think you're right. *smiles*

 

Later that night

 

L. Sedai: Gaidin, where are you going?

 

Gaidin 17: I have a few errands to run.

 

L. Sedai: Errands? No, stay home with me. *sulky*

 

Gaidin 17: *smiles somewhat guiltily*

 

L. Sedai: *lifts eyebrows* Are you going out to get me something? Right now? You do know its 8 o'clock on a Sunday night. Nothing will be open.

 

Gaidin 17: *smiles sheepishly* Oh. Yea.

 

L. Sedai: Oh, Gaidin *smiles* I love you.

 

 

Now, onto more fun! Since I already know Gaidin 17 has a little trick up his rugged sleeve, I've decided that the best result would be one that is yielded with the help of my ever-guiding hand. So, in the spirit of Moiraine, I've decided that something reminiscent of a blue kesiera would look every so nice replacing the pearls that previously hung around my neck.

 

So ladies I need your opinion on some selections, and where else to find the best opinion on such but on Moiraine's World? Do tell me which you like best.

In all seriousness though I think the third and fourth ones are kind of pretty,if slightly gaudy. I'm not one for jewelry though so you could probably safely disregard my advice on the matter, which by the way is to wear a toga. Coincidentally, does anyone have any tips on making or purchasing a toga?

I originally liked 1 and 2 but Gaidin 17 likes 3. I was reading the description of it and found that indeed it is now my favorite as well! The sapphire in that one is called a star sapphire. Here's the description:

#1 is really pretty.

But #4 seems better somehow...

 

I personally like #3: because it has this...simple and smooth design that looks...well I can't think of an appropriate word for it at the moment.

 

#2 is beautiful but the design is just a bit too much.

 

If you want something Moiraineish go with #1?

If you want something to show off and look very pretty go with #4.

 

But if you want kool and sleek and that word I still can't put a finger to, go with #3.

 

That's my thoughts anyways...but then again...I'm a guy.

 

But if you total up all the ones people have picked...#3 is winning. With 4 in a close second. And 1 hot on it's tracks!

I'm voting late but I vote for 3.

 

Tosh, I believe watching Animal House or asking someone dressing as a ghost for Halloween may be the way to find out, but I can't say why. When you find out how to make a toga let me know. I get the feeling there is partying involved if you master the process.

I actually meant that I usually don't like jewelry and I often think its too gaudy, which I also thought about these ones, but because of my negative biase my opinion lacks weight.

Looking at old jewelry at Estate Sales is fun. I like hair pins and clips. But, I do not wear jewelry except for my grandmother's ring. My opinions are also suspect
