New Year of the New Decade!

Recommended Posts

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE! Hope you all have a ROCKING New Year of the New Decade!

It has been fun & was awesome to have met you all in the first decade of 2000!

I look forward to many more great time's here with you all! :D

To start of the New Year I did some fire crackers with the family. Well I lite and threw a mini cherry bomb...a little too far. It went over the wall into the neighbor's back yard and blew up :glomp:

Luckily they were not home :).

Besides that I'm drinking Apple Cider! :siuandance:

How about the rest of you!? How'd you start off your New Year?

Oh! Post all of your New Year's resolutions too! I'll have mine up soon.

Happy New Year to you all, too, Moiraine's World! :siuandance: (<--- that emote is the best thing to come out of 2009 :D)

Aw, Jan =/ :glomp:

I spent a quiet New Year's, out walking and enjoying the full moon, thinking about how much has happened to me not just in 2009 but in the last decade. *shakes head* Hard to believe it's 2010 already. Here's to us all surviving another year! *lifts glass* (I'm a teetotaler, so I drink apple cider too, AshSnow ;) Martinelli's is the best)

I've decided not to make New Year's Resolutions. If you feel you have to make a resolution just for the sake of the calendrical date, you're probably not going to bother to see it through. I prefer to make resolutions at other times. I am looking forward to seeing how the gym I go to fills up over the next month with poor fools who made "lose weight/get in shape" resolutions. Most will be gone within a few weeks :)

:siuandance: Mine was a relatively quiet New Years as well.

My New Years resolution is to seduce as many straight girls as possible and send them into crisis of identity. 2 last year, I reckon I can beat it this year!

Also to find something rocking to do this summer rather than just bum around Lurgan.

Revise for finals would seem like a good idea.

I ended up in a local club, with my brother, friends and boyfriend.

It was nice I guess, but I personally think New Year's a bit overrated. :/

I hate that everyone expect me to be happy just because it's New Year.

I tried to get drunk and failed miserably, since the line in front of the bar was huge, and the line in front of the toilet was even bigger.

2009 was a really hard year for me, and I truly hope this decade will be better...

Anyway, I survived, take that cruel faith, and I intend to have fun as much as I can...

So far, so good. :glomp:

New Year's resolutions?

Well, go to classes more often and finish this tedious first year of college...

And I need to make some important decisions about my life, and try to be more responsible.

aaand, less drinking, more studying...

*joins the toast, good luck Moiraine's World, we'll need it*

Champagne, music, hate and love. Family, friends and enemies joined together as 2009 came to its final shuddering release. I only just now realize, its been a hell of a year.

No resolutions for me either, I've been following through on much as it is. I think I might dissapoint myself bitterly this year, for some blissful variety.

Oh and I almost forgot. Whos with me in officially naming this decade; The tenthies? We'll be like the eighties but less triangular. And then when the double-twenties rolls around we'll all become my grandmother. Which by no means is a bad thing. She is a woman of iron, is my grandmother. Though she has softened, rusted, in her advanced-advanced age her every word can be as a punch to the face. Swift, unmerciful and if your soul is scarred enough, or honest enough, very endearing.

I find that this new year has made me very morbid. For instance, yesterday I couldn't for the life of me stop pondering on whether various people I met were likely to survive to see the next decade. Like my aforementioned grandmother, or my beloved cat.

And yet I find myself free of sadness at these thoughts. A certain solemnity prevails these musing to be sure, but I am not as the mourner at dawn, rather a lover during dry summer day.

You know, the signature picture I have on this forum is very cute. did I every thank you for making it Marie? If it was indeed Marie. I might have to change the quote soon though. I hate monkeys.

  • 2 weeks later...

I am late for this thread.

This year I stayed at home, forgot to watch the ball drop, and drank vodka. One might think that this was a depressing event, however last New Year's Eve I had no vodka. :ddd:

My resolutions:

1. Drink Alone as Often as Possible...!

2. Write More Fanfic :lalala:

3. Take a Vacation!

Do we start saying that it's "Twenty-Ten" instead of "Two Thousand and etc." yet?

When I try to say "tenthies" it comes out like "Tenties". It reminds me of pants tents. Tosh, you are evil!!

Jan- Tell?! Being clumsy is all there is to tell! Also, vacations~~ Let's go on a cruise like really old women. Or, visit Sweden. :lalala:
