    Moving on. I’m toying with a Looney Theory here that the “guardian” ter’angreal of Far Madding might have a larger role to play in the last two books. I base this on the long-held and popular theory that part of re-sealing up the Dark One is going to involve eliminating people’s ability to channel altogether.

    There will be new (or at least updated) stuff in November at least! I do need to reorganize and add to the fanfiction section. The theories page needs love too. Actually I don't know how I'm going to handle some of the pages on the main site with new Moiraine info to account for while still not giving away spoilers.

    I feel almost as if I should apologize. We're a small group and a bit isolated from the rest of the WoT community (I know I'm not the only one here who avoids dragonmount if I can help it) and after in some cases seven years of discussing Moiraine here, I think we've reached the end of our rope. Combine that with a wrapped sense of hunor and you get...well, Moiraine's World.

     

    But yes of course you see plenty of internal monologue in the series it is just this one night a specific quote got me wondering if Moiraine is aware of how awesome she is, a bit like how Cadsuane is acutely aware of her own legend.

    I still can't believe that it's just an eye to save the world. It has to be something else.....

     

    I believe the theory goes as thus: Min had a viewing that Rand could not win without a woman dead and gone--Moiraine is the assumed woman--the Finns told Mat he would have to give up half the light of the world to save the world; Egwene had a Dream of Mat missing an eye. I think she saw him putting it on a scale (or maybe Min saw it). So! Mat giving up an eye to save Moiraine indirectly saves the world.

     

    I don't really see Mat doing that willingly. That's why I am interested in seeing if that theory is true and if so how it will all pan out.

    Much to my surprise there are people who seem to believe that defeating the Dark One will involve abolishing the ability to channel.

     

    Their reasoning seems to rest on the idea of Randland being a future/past Earth and therefore at some point channeling has to disappear.

     

    I don't really like that theory because 1) there are plenty of Ages for that to happen and 2) I just plain like channelers.

    God I'm a geek. :P

     

    I noticed on dragonmount someone made a comment that this vid contains spoilers (!) in so far as we see Moiraine riding off on a horse and her channeling.

     

    I don't get the horse thing. Horses are the primary form of long distance travel. Of course she'll ride a horse! Maybe this person expected Moiraine to be legless I don't know.

     

    The channeling thing I can see, but then I never thought Mo would be stilled/burnt out.

     

    Having said all that, when watching the video I just thought they were showing all of Moiraine's trademarks not actually "spoiling" us about her current/future state. Ah, Dragonmount. The place that still debates Moiraine/Siuan pillow friendship.
