I'm not sure what to have for dinner, which means it will probably end up being pizza. (Not that I'm complaining, because Olivia loves pizza!)

Why? She is one of the more fun Forsaken to read about, imo.

I think it was Graendal that killed Asmodean (feels a Split thread coming up).
I had my suspicions when I learned that she went snooping around Sammael's place in Illian after he died, looking for angreal and other useful things. And if she did that for Sammael, what's to say she wasn't poking around Rahvin's former lair in the Royal Palace in Caemlyn when Asmo just happened to bump into her.
What really sold me into the idea that is was her were two things that Lanfear and Asmo himself said.
Lanfear: In chapter 50 Traps, of TSR, before we know who Lanfear and Asmo are masquerading as, Rand has that dream where he is in the pond with the women and blah blah, then Lanfear shows up, and then Asmo *disguised as a blur* shows up and scolds Lanfear. Her retort is "Had I not hauled you out of your hole, you'd still be hiding, and waiting to snatch a few scraps." I took this to mean that (since there are many references that Asmo is a weak Forsaken) he was sort of hiding with another Forsaken or other powerful person, maybe just to keep himself safe or to try to be on the winner's good side, or perhaps that person was keeping him as a scapegoat to offer up in case of their own failure. Granted, this doesn't necessarily point to Graendal, but what Asmo said later makes it a healthy suspicion.
On another point, didn't anyone ever wonder how Kadere the merchant and his train got in the middle of the Waste without passing any Aiel, and how surprosed Kadere was to find out he was near Rhuidean. Well, the only answer to that is they Traveled. But who opened a gateway for them? Asmo or Lanfear could have easily done it, but they were disguised as a fat merchant and a gleeman, and were only going by Darkfriends high up in the ranks, a step beneath the Chosen. Kadere was shocked as hell when he learned that his partner Keille was really Lanfear. What does this all mean? That another channeler had to open the gateway for them....and I'm guessing it was Graendal.
In TFoH, chapter Pale Shadows Asmo gives himself away. He imparts words of wisdom to Rand with "I came across a saying in Arad Doman"....BINGO!! Now we know where he was "holed away"! It's not like after breaking free of 3 thousand years of imprisonment, that he would just go touring the world, learning of its cultures and adages. So, he had to have been spending a lot of time in Arad Doman to learn that, because RJ doesn't make mistakes like that. And guess who else just happened to be in Arad Doman: Graendal! Because we well know that is where she keeps her little orgy palace and that she has a hold on the King of Arad Doman and his top general.
Ok, so what? They were in Arad Doman together...romantic. No! Asmo obviously learned too much while he was "under Graendal's wing" or simply leftover knowledge from his Age of Legends life, and when she just happens to see him in Caemlyn (or perhaps she knew before then) she knows that he has betrayed the Dark and has to be silenced before he leaks important info about her and the bigger secrets of the Shadow to Rand. So, she kills him instantly with the Power.

Aiel (and several other peoples) have a nudity obsession. RJ is pervy, no question about it.

I think Nynaeve and Moghedien are hiding a twisted love for each other. *nods*
Think of it.... the young naive girl who fearfully realizes she doesn't really want that big strong man-hero afterall, and the story of how her innocence convinced a soulless killer to find the heart she thought she lost three thousand years ago. *wipes tear from eye lovingly*

I for one do NOT want the series to end in the next book!
It needs to get better before it can end! And I don't think he can fix everything in one book.
When I saw him speak at ComicCon last year, he said that book 12 will wrap up the storyline, but he isn't going to make it one of those lame, over-used "happily ever after" endings that solves every single mystery in the book. He said he wants to leave us with a world that is "still kicking". He also hinted that he may say outright who killed Asmodean.

Yea guys, this swedish business goes back to the actual thread topic!

I'd like Thom to die as well because the idea of him and Moiraine is just too unpalatable to me!
That, my dear, has become my nightly prayer.

Yea it's strange, and not award-winning or anything special. I like it somewhat though.

It depends on the type of closeness. Siblings of 10 years apart can be very close, but not the playmate type of close. When they are both adults also, age makes less and less difference. For example, my sister is 10 years older than I, yet she is my closest sibling.

I agree with you on the whole view of evil in America (and most of the West). It's primarily because our culture began as Christian, and Christianity places a heavy influence of the forces of "evil" and as a result we have come to see evil as a solid being or energy that can be fought and defeated. I'm of the belief that there is no devil or evil god, same reason there is no god that is pure goodness. Like Niklas said, it's all about order and chaos and most importantly balance. RJ adresses some issues of balance in his world, but not nearly enough, and he still has the classic American views of superheroes vs. monsters and superheroes resisting the temptation to become monsters.
I also think the series has gone downhill, and that whole male obsession with not hurting women has made me just put the books down and walk away at times, it is SO insulting. The men in the books are either ashamed of their masculinity and think that women are priceless delicate peices of art and that their own lives are worthless, or they just see as so pitifully incompetent that we all need a man looking over our shoulder and taking a knife in the heart for us. And Rand and his harem? Just disgusting, I firmyl believe it is impossible to be truly in love with more than 1 person. RJ just isn't good at varying romance: the men are stubborn, the women are stubborner but manage to "throw their wits over the wall" every time for their blunt and stupid men.
Women in this series are more represented and better treated than women in most books, but sadly, that doesn't mean they are treated well.

I think it would be hilarious if Cadsuane survived Tarmon Gaidon and then collapsed and died of old age right after it:P
lol!

I think Rand will die, because one of Min's viewings showed him on a funeral pyre with 3 women crying over it.
BUT there is some funky weird stuff going on with Logain in Min's visions and Egwene's dreaming too. Something about Logain getting glory (as Min saw in TSR when she was masquerading). And then I remember some dream vision about Logain stepping on things on his way towards Rand's body and then the body disappears. It's only a vague memory of some strange dream, and I probably have some of the details wrong, but I think it means Logain will pretend to be Rand and pretend to be dead for a while, possibly in some scheme to trap the remaining Forsaken?
I also think Lan will die. :*( Who I want to die is Thom and Bryne (So Siuan and Mo get back together of course!), and Gawyn, Galad, Cadsuane, lots of Seanchan, and those annoying Kin that are making Nynaeve seem less uber.

oh and he has to be high so he can see the beauty of WoT like we do.
Speak for yourself on that one.

And then I can use saidin as I want, randomly just doing insane stuff.
HA! You're a boy! Sorry, not meaning to insult, I just wasn't sure up until now.
And Vertex, America is what people have made it. And for the most part, the controlling influence for over 200 years has been Enlgish speakers. I think it is unfair to come into our country and expect us to learn your language. This is Americans' nation, why do you expect us not to have pride in that? Immigrants came here, if they don't like our policy and our language why did they move here? Some people act like we have to treat them as very special and go through all this trouble to be accomodating to them. I have no problem welcoming people who go through the legal immigration process from any foreign country, and learn our language, but people who move here and expect the majority to change according to each and every minority are just foolish.

I'm having lasagna, french bread, and kiwi-strawberry juice for dinner.
If Tosh gets a pillowfriend I want one too! -
well we could challenge you but since theres no information either way I doubt the debate would last all that long:P
When has that ever stopped the denizens of Moiraine's World?!

I'm a bit disappointed no one is arguing over Anvaere's lesbianism.
When is it mentioned she is lesbian? *eagerly looks for the page*
That's really a lame excuse ever since the camera was invented. *tsks*You can't use a camera to take a picture of a fictional character... silly Vertex.

I also wish there were expanded pillowfriend scenes.
Not a lot, but just as much as maybe some of the male/female stuff has been written.
I could not agree with you more!!!!!!!!!!
Still, homosexuality is a minority, and it just isn't RJ's style to focus on the same gender relations the way a gay or lesbian writer would. He has found true love in his wife, and he wants to reflect that in most of his characters, I assume.

Marie also mentioned a waste of tax money, which I agree with. And also, the solution to the mutli-culturalism is for every to learn the same language. There are dozens of languages that are spoken in the U.S. but it would be impossible for every single region to double print things in two languages. America has always been multicultural since the first immigratns came, but sometimes the only link the different cultures here have is the English language and the same desires for freedom etc. and all that romanticized crap.
In many countries things are translated in English for us! It is a double standard. Those countries probably only have two major language groups then: Native and English-speaking immigrants. Here we have far more than just 2 languages that are spoken, as I've already stated.
Besides, America is a world power, our businesses and our military constantly affect the entire world, where you cannot say the same for a country like Mexico or Egypt; so if a country has much dealings with the U.S. whether in economy or other reasons, it helps to be able to speak our language.

They do? Well, I'm not just jumping on the bandwagon, I honestly found out all that evidence by myself.
I guess I should go to WoTmania sometime...apparently I'm not special :*(
