Some newer members have come lately. *cheers* We haven't done a whole lot of talking about Moiraine lately, and I was wondering if anybody had some topics about her they would like to discuss that really haven't been, or would like to add to some previous discussions they weren't here for?

 

It'd probably be better than me making a topic about whether Moiraine is more likely to have high arches or flat feet.

 

To make this a valid topic, lol, I decided to put a short survey in here too.

 

1. Does Moiraine have high arches or flat feet? Why do you think so?

 

2. If Moiraine was born without the ability to channel what do you think her life would have been like in her late teens? What would her life have progressed into later in life?

 

3. The year is 10 ATG (after TG). Moiraine is traveling on a light warhorse from the capital city of Cairhien to Fal Dara to stay for three days with 15 pounds of luggage, a 2 pound horse blanket, and 10 pounds combined saddle/bridle/horse gear, with enough food for herself and the horse to last ten days while wearing a traditional gown suitable for a ball at the Sun Palace in winter. Taking into account this information - why can't you people just admit that the Blue Ajah is the Deepest, and why would Moiraine be doing this if she could just use a gateway?

She has high arches because...of the comic...and princesses are suppose to have high arches.

 

I think her life would have been like her cousin's, Caraline. She probably would have had a trist with Corey, and then had the usual romance life of a Cairhienin noblewoman. Eventually, she might have settled down.

 

I will ignore the first part of your last question since it is foolish, however, Moiraine really likes horses (why, I have no idea) so she did this to enjoy a ride on horseback through the countryside.

I agree about the high arches. She also likes to dance those court dances, so she's likely to be up on the balls of her feet a lot. It just seems to go together.

 

I do not think she would have stayed in Cairhien. I think that the same sort of events with her family would still have happened, and she's still the most likely choice for the Crown, so she would have found some other excuse to hurry off.

I think Moiraine has high arches and I think she would have been queen of Cairhien and married to Cormanes. *is to lazy to answer the last question*

If she couldn't channel she would end up married and deep in thick of the politics in Carhien...although it is possible she could end up queen:)

I donno... I think she might be an adrenaline junkie deep down. And that means she got an addictive personality.

 

So she might enjoy noblewoman life until she became queen. But when reaching 40 and everyday is the same, I think she might develope a drinking habit, loose the kingdom and be forced to go hide in the white tower... Where she might recover from the alcohol and take a job as one of those gossiping eye and ear people. And eventually lead a coup to overthrow the white tower in order to paint it blue so that unsuspecting birds fly straight into it on clear days. The kittens living in the white tower would love that anyways. So I'm sure Moiraine would too.

I don't think there is enough information to conclude the shape of Moiraine's arches. She rides horses a lot instead of walking, which may be indicative of her noble ways, or perhaps the fact that her feet may get tired easily, which COULD indicate either arches too high or too flat.

 

In my mind, her feet are perfectly shaped.

 

As for the rest, she would have been a Cairhienin politician, no doubt, probably vying for the throne, or maybe intimidated into committing suicide like Rand did with old whats-her-face.
