Welcome to the forum Emrys.

Your point is valid, but this probably isn't the right section for it; questions about Moiraine or the books generally go into the 'Kesiera' or 'The Books' section.

Anyways, a lot of theories include stilling probably to account for her bond being snapped with Lan. When she went through the doorway in Tear (in TSR) nothing happened, but when she fell through the one in Cairhien later, her bond with her Warder was broken - so a lot of people think that in her fight with Lanfear she either drew too much Power and burned herself out, or that Lanfear was able to defeat her and still her. But then, we aren't sure that stilling would break a Warder bond if it happened ('cause when it happened to Siuan and Leane, their Warders were dead before they were stilled). That question will probably be answered in the next book though, so we will see which theories had more truth in them. :( (I personally hope she wasn't stilled, because that would just be uncool for my favorite character)

But you're right, they could heal her if she had indeed been stilled. :) It should probably be that Asha'man (I think it was Flinn) to do it though, 'cause when Nynaeve did it the women only got a portion of their strength back.

Nice first post emrys! I don't believe it'd be so awful like it once was either if Moiraine did come back stilled. She could be, or burnt out, but some people have said they thought she was because she didn't use the OP somehow to release herself, and then later on it seemed like she didn't finish the fight with Lanfear since Lanny was saying she was just "held" for a while.

But, it was pretty surprising to Moiraine that Rand channeled when they were all asking questions from the other *Finn. Maybe she couldn't because of something about that place or the Finns?

Yeah I always thought Finnland must be difficult to channel in, since it would have been easy for a channeler to break the rules and bring fire, of course that then opens the question how Rand channeled

Yes, maybe the Finn couldn't control him as well since he was the top ta'veren and Mat and Moiraine were also there?

Controlling.. that would be awful for Moiraine.

In her letter she said it was very possible they'd all be stuck there forever. Stuck there without being able to channel but not burnt out or stilled? That's sucky.

Even if she's been stilled, we will probably still recognize her, if she hasn't been too roughly treated. The agelessness is supposed to fade away slowly under "normal" circumstances, but how slow? I wouldn't want this cool blue to return as a copy of Siuan.

I still think that Moiraine broke her bond with Lan before she went through that gateway, which means she might not have been stilled

I agree with you. I can't recall exactly -- and I can't check because my books are in another city (well, they were not "my" books exactly, blah blah...) -- but there was something she said or Lan said later that made me quite sure she had purposely broken her bond before going through the doorway.

Yeah. She said she didn't know if he was trying to get up or dying (no idea if that's what you are talking about...I don't care!). I mean, Rand could tell Alanna had stubbed her toe, so I would think Moiraine could tell the difference between death and "man my back hurts! I can't get up! :("
