Right Brain vs Left Brain

A video forum place I frequent was having lots of fun with this page. You look at the GIF image and depending on how you see it move, it determines which brain hemisphere is dominant. (Although the personality traits aren't exactly scientifically confirmed, it was still neat to see that I matched most of the characteristics.)

 

For the life of me, I cannot get her to spin counter-clockwise; I'm firmly right-brained. other people on the forum were obsessing and practically driving themselves crazy over trying to make her go the other way - much hilarity ensued! One user on the page asked "What if she stops spinning altogether?" the reply was "Then you've just given yourself a stroke."

Yeah...that looks clockwise to me! I don't see how it could be different.

I saw it anti-clockwise to begin with, but when I stared at it for about 2 mins, I could see it turn clockwise.

Right Brains unite! She's only spun clock-wise upon my viewing of her.

@ Ajit- Though I enjoy how you refer to counter as ANTI clockwise. It sounds evil all of a sudden. Like the Forsaken or something. hehe, just a thought.

Well I was taught clockwise and anti-clockwise .... we don't use counter clockwise much.

You saw it as clockwise too !! 3 outta 4??

 

EDIT : When I see it again, I see it turn clockwise !! Don't tell me the brain shifts control to different hemispheres at different parts of the day. I think it may be programmed to spin one way for a few minutes and then the other way

First it was spinning clockwise and then my mind kinda drifted off for a second and then it was spinning anti-clockwise

Well, it was clockwise to begin with, but when I read the text and looked back it was the other direction. That was when I remembered a thing about eyes and the brain: Each eye has a connection to both hemispheres, so how the illusion affects you should depend on how you look at the page. One hemisphere starts reading a sentence and the other one finishes it.

 

It could also be that reading triggered the left side to "come alive".

 

I realise that it was amusement rather than science . I should go to bed.

I saw clockwise too, but it didn't take much effort to see it anti-clockwise once I read the text!

it started counter-clockwise....but then i didn't look at it, and told myself it was clockwise....and so it changed when i looked again.

 

I saw this on LJ the other day....i forget which way i saw it first. but I know it changed and i didn't even try to make it change. So what's that suppose to mean? I'm even minded? HA!

It was clockwise for me for a bit, and then after turning on some music it was easy to see it going the other way.

Someone had that gif as an avatar on Livejournal, and I still couldn't make it go the other way but then...it did. Sooooooooo weird! It quickly went back to clockwise for me, though.
