I find muffins are overrated. Nothing can be really good without being very sticky.

And I was not watching Pokemon, and if I was, I'd not tell Marie wicked anyway. Besides, she used to watch it too, but now she's more into mecha anime with super robots blowing up thousands of not super robots with mega death rays. But I forgive her.

I like most people in one way or another...but, that doesn't mean I wanna spend every moment with them. I'm sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings.

@Asmo

I notice many of the things you've mentioned even at my High School. I can't speak for everyone, everywhere, in every circumstance, but I find it is largely because people just don't "be" anymore. They have to "be something". People find a song they identify with, they have to "be" that song, not themselves. They find a book/movie/game/etc. character they identify with on some level or would like to be more like, so they try to become that character in a real world. What I'm seeing is artificial people trying to live in a real world... Or people finding that the people they want to be aren't real and can't be so they become angsty.

Jan... I feel for you. Although, maybe you should attempt a more direct (but not too forward) approach. *shug* It might help.

Personas, we're adopting them right now. They're fun. But you're right Sivart. People take it to be something other then themselves. And that's usually out of fear of rejection and other self-esteem issues. It all is what it is. Not always what it should be but I digress.

As I said, my main point is any form of trying to connect and become romantic with someone is much harder then it really needs to be. Go Jan for trying.

I didn't have Internet access at home until I was 18, so in all of my teens my "friends" were communicating behind my back, going to places without my knowing, and they never answered if I texted them, because MSN is free and phones are not. :ddd: Imagine the summers! The worst thing was having to explain it all the time and getting odd stares.

Love. Only my cat has ever shown that feeling towards me. Bless that furry creature. :) It's all a mix of possession and dependence, though. Says a lot about humans.

Ah, terminator!

People don't need to form opinions of their own about things anymore, they can just download some from the internet.

Though you did say bewerage .... which makes me wonder, what kind?

Well I usually prefer tea of coffee for that sort of thing.

Ah, you're right about the last part. :) I think that it might not be entirely human nature, but partly the conditions we have adapted ourselves to live in within society. It's not just all about biology. If it were love would be simple. If we were animals that chose life-long mates we would love them because of the biological imperative to love your mate as long as you are together. But it is more complex. It is amazing what the human as a social animal will assimilate in order to fit within a group. I don't just mean the smaller group of the immediate peers around you, but in terms of global society... or at least the society of the culture you are immersed in at the time.

In short, there is hope because much of our ideas of love being about possession and dependence are cultural, but there is no hope because we as social animals need to fully assimilate such important ideals as what love is from the greater consensus in order to function well. :) It reminds me of why stories of star crossed lovers are so popular in so many cultures. It at once challenges and reinforces the notion of love existing outside the culturally accepted norm being a thing doomed to failure. (edit: gah! I keep realizing that I'm leaving out things I mean to say! *trigger happy on the post button* :ddd: )

Possession and dependence CAN be quite complex. That cat wants to OWN me because she's depending on me for food. That's what all the cuddling is really about. She's branding me as hers and gets jealous if I smell of other cats. In human eyes I'm the owner, but I know better than that. I'm a her servant, but a dominant one. I could easily harm her if I didn't have mental blockers and thought we have some sort of friendship. On some levels it makes me feel like a bourgeoisie working man. :ddd:

You can dissect love between humans in a similar way. Like our minds turns the cats dependancy of you into love so might also be the case with our love in general.

But that doesn't make it any less real, what it might do if you are particularly stubborn is taint these positive feelings.

I know I am made out of unfathomable numbers of tiny lifeforms but that doesn't make "me" a "we". Though I am tempted to start calling myself that. :ddd:
