I was talking about Verin's "interrogation" of those Aes Sedai and then later when she almost poisons the old bag (don't want to spoil; I'm sure you who've read the book know who I'm talking about).

That was awesome of Verin. Even though, you know.

 

I love that she's an enigma. It seems like she definitely did something to Alanna. Why not use the opportunity if you're the kind that would do stuff like what happened later in the books.

so heres some personal updates thus far. im 1/2 through the book.

 

1. im starting to like Berelain. despite her scandalous tendecies, she's a really competent woman and i actually really like her personality. i kinda stopped liking Faile 2 books ago and i know somethings gonna go down with Berelain and Perrin so....im torn bc i dont like Faile but at the same time i dont want him to be unfaithful.

 

2. I like Alanna. I dont really know why but I do.

 

3. Still likin' Egwene. Have a feeling shes gonna be hunting down Gawyn soon after all this dream fun shes been having.

 

4. I love how Rand remembers stuff that Moiraine said like all the time. Keeps the spirit of Mo in the book and gives me good-goodies to see how much he appreciated her.

 

5. Mat is great. He's one of my favs now after being way down on list before.

oh my, i have just read the chapter "to heal again"! i may love Moiraine but that seriously was the best chapter in the whole series! *teary eyed* that moment with Nyna and Suian!

 

i feel sad for Mo though now. Siuan is all of a sudden crushed again by Alric's death and Leane talked about what she went through when her warder died. Poor Moiraine all alone in Finnland with her bond to Lan gone. i suppose if she is stilled it would at least help in that regard. ;(

Lord of Chaos really does do some super cool things. It's very balanced. (The last balanced book until Winters Heart)

 

Never fear the next two are still good. Just oddly paced at times.

This was my last favorite book until KoD (I didn't like a certain thing in KoD though). But, important stuff does happen in the other books.

what a great Mat moment (had me LOL): "Siuan Sanche! She was stilled and dead! She was glaring at him with some young woman's face she had stolen, was what she was, and wearing an Aes Sedai ring! He had asked Siuan Sanche to dance!"

 

another great quote on Mo from Thom that also appeared: "Often you don't know whether a woman is friend, enemy, or lover until it is too late. Sometimes, she is all three." So Moiraine-ish.
