Will The Gathering Storm be a tease?

Based on Jason's review (although not an indepth review) on Dragonmount, I am torn on hope for Moiraine and fear of a damn cliffhanger.

 

 

I don't know if it counts as spoiler or not so I'm just going to play it safe.

 

 

 

The point is that this isn’t a book where you slug through pages for a dozen chapters, read an exciting part, and then have to dig through another ten. This is far more evened out, with carefully crafted arcs that begin and end within the confines of this single volume. There are dozens of intense or exciting scenes scattered throughout. By the end of the prologue, fans will be chattering away. By the time you get to Mat’s adventures to a certain location (I’m not saying A THING about where that might be!!!), the theory forums and theoryland.com will be bursting at the seams.

It will probably be a cliffhanger. The suffering of Moiraine fans has been drawn out by the author for over six books, and I see no reason why Sanderson won't drag it out a little longer just for schadenfreude.

I also think Moiraine will not appear in this book. G 17 read an interview with Sanderson in which he said something along the lines of, "A much -awaited event/scene that fans have been hoping for will most likely not happen in this book."

 

edit: but a cliffhanger like that will just make it all the more frustrating!

I wouldn't mind Moiraine not showing up in the next book, but a cliffhanger just feels like rubbing it in your face.

You know, maybe where he travels to is the Illuminator's main guild to build a ton of Dragons, and then a cliffhanger as they blow the crap out of the Tower of Ghenjei.

 

I was hoping Mo's rescue would be the major part of part one, with the WT being attacked as the second part's major climax and the last being all of TG. That way she could be there for at least two full books.

Galad/Berelain and Galad meeting Morgase. I think Sanderson said it starts with Perrin.

The cliffhanger is a very real possibility. Isn't that the easiest way to make sure we buy the next book? :-/ Saddened to know that Mo will probably not appear in this one. On the bright side, maybe

 

Rand will lose some more body parts...
